NOTES FOR BIBLE STUDY NOVEMBER 4, 2022

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God
divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And
the evening and the morning were the first day. (Genesis 1:1-5)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was
in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that
was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the
darkness comprehended it not. (John 1:1-5)

And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and
the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: And it came between the
camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light
by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night. (Exodus 14:19-20)

Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and
righteous. (Psalms 112:4)

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the
shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isaiah 9:2) see: Matthew 4:16

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather
than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19)

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
(John 12:46)

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the
hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man
have praise of God. (1 Corinthians 4:5)

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the
light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the
darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is
in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of
stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth
not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. (1 John 2:8-11)
