Dear Sir,
RE: REPORT ON SEWERAGE PUMP STATION OVERFLOW AT THE SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
The above refers. We did rewire the control panel to a common standard, controlled by float switches and duty-cycled by
a mains-controlled flip-flop relay. However, we were concerned about the level of sludge in the sump, which would impair
the proper operation of float switches. Our fears were confirmed over the past weekend when we got call that the plant
had overflowed.
We then decided to change the control philosophy to liquid level control relay using probes operating on extra-low voltage
for safety of your personnel. We have also incorporated a system where if one of the pumps trips, the one which was on
standby will automatically start.
We have re-done the control wiring diagrams to suit the same. We believe you will get a reliable system of operation at
the sewerage plant.
However, you should consider de-sludging the sump as soon as possible. We do offer such services and can provide a
quotation for that.
Thank you
