Assessment 1 brief

For assessment 1 students need to analyse the supply chain of a retail

organisation of their choice and identify the operational issues based on their
current business operations and supply chain model.
In order to do this, students need to analyse the operations of the retail
organisation and design a poster (using PowerPoint) to map and analyse their
supply network using the relevant concepts discussed in the lecture. Students
also need to identify the challenges to the operations manager based on their
business model and their supply chain.
The poster/PowerPoint should have 3 main slides including the supply
network, operational challenges faced by managers, and references. You can
also have an outline slide if you wish. First slide should include your name and
student number and your seminar tutor’s name. The supply network (main
section of the poster) should include all the key parties/organizations involved
in the transformation process including the suppliers that supply inputs to the
operation as well all the customers that receive outputs from the operation. All
the relationships should be clearly demonstrated within the supply chain.
Students need to include reasonable amount of detail in their presentations to
help us with marking and moderation process. Also, detailed notes should be
added in the note pane section as well.
