● Out of all the risk factors that exist, is there one that dominates all others?
● Which one do you think predicts addiction more than the others?
● Which one of the F.A.C.T.S. have you control over or can you influence?

2. Personal risk and protective factors assessment:

Below is a check-list with risk and protective factors. Students can complete the checklist individually and without sharing first.
Should they feel comfortable sharing, they can discuss in pairs or even as a group. They should check factors that apply to them
(entries for risk factors and protective factors in respective rows do not correspond, they are named in a random order)

options.
● Anything shared with counselors at FIS is treated confidentially; the exception to that, (when confidentiality may need to be
breached), is when there is a possibility of harm to the student or others.
