Bombshell Reflection

The "MeToo" movement is definitely linked to the Bombshell film since it is an attempt to
impact societal change through the media. The creators of this film take a risk not only in terms
of earnings, but also in terms of uncertainty, as they head to one of the most powerful and
well-known news networks, but they continue to work on the film exposing the long-standing
culture of sexual harassment in the television industry. Even though the film "Bombshell" is
fictitious, it is based on the tales of the women who spoke up, revealing the news network's
institutionalized harassment of women. This film, like the "MeToo" movement, urges women to
come up about workplace violence and recount their stories. I believe this scenario is applicable
to the Philippines because there’s still a lot of women who experienced sex harassment but
they chose to be brave and talk about their hard experiences.

This film "Bombshell" did a good job of balancing events in order to protect individuals and a
large network company, but it still exposed the main issue that persists in this type of "I can
make you famous" company where women are particularly vulnerable, which is dehumanizing
sexual harassment.

The general takeaway from the film is that no matter what the obstacles or the problems that a
person especially a woman is facing, she should have the courage to face all those problem to
get what is right. The justice that every victim wanted and the screams that every victims
wanted to screams. For me, the character that represents a woman's voice in the present times
is Gretchen because she tries to help other woman to be not become the victims, she ask and
seek more evidence to get the justice she deserves. She also encourage all the victims of the
harassment to speak out and tell the world what is wrong in the said company.
