CHAPTER ONE: INTRODUCTION
GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE FIELD PRACTICAL TRAINING
The field practical training is opportunity provided by THE BANK OF TANZANIA ACADEMY to its
student to link and expose them to labor market via financial institution specifically banks and
other financial sectors at large.
Personally, the general purpose of the field practical training in relation with fundamental
principles of the Field Practical Training policy which facilitate acquisition of skills,
demonstration of acquired skills on jobs and academy linkage with the industry, was to
practically learned the issues covered in class and be able to perform them well, obtain
experience of the things that I once heard, and thought that they may be some how difficult to
do, finally getting opportunity to actually do them, things like credit and back office operations,
cashiering duties, lastly be good ambassador for my academy by showing at most level of
integrity, commitment and responsibility. Also be able to learn and adopt appropriate banking
culture thus making a difference and appraise the good name of the Academy.
