 Show startup-config

5. Why does the switch respond with “startup-config is not present?

 The “startup-config is not present” displays because the configuration file was not
automatically saved to NVRAM but rather located at RAM.

6. Why is the login command required?

 Whenever we access a device using console access, the login command is required so
that it will prompt to this password which we should verify.

7. What is displayed for the enable secret password?

8. Why is the enable secret password displayed differently from what we configured?
 The enable secret password is displayed differently from what we configured because the
enable secret is shown as encrypted form while the encrypted password is in plain text.

as plain text or in encrypted form? Explain
 If we configure future passwords on the switch, it will be as encrypted form because of the
service password command.

10. When will this banner be displayed?

 When someone access the switch through the console part, the banner will be displayed.

11. Why should every switch have a MOTD banner?

 Every switch should have a banner to warn unauthorized users which access is prohibited,
it can also be used for sending messages to network personnel technicians such as
system shutdowns, or who to contact for access.

12. What is the shortest, abbreviated version of the copy running-config startup-config command?
 Copy r s or copy run start
13. Which command will display the contents of NVRAM?
 Show startup-config

14. Are all the changes that were entered recorded in the file?
 Yes, it is recorded. It is the reason why we see our progress. But, it is also depends on us.
