According to the article Solfeg.io, a music education app, about the tips to make
teaching music to children effectively, I gained the knowledge of some techniques and
strategies that can be use to help students find their desire to learn and increase their
ability to understand music lessons.
We all know that teaching music to children has never been easy; it is quite
challenging, especially when students struggle to grasp new concepts. However,
implementing strategies and techniques in teaching music can be a big help to teach it
effectively, I was brought up to think that letting your positive attitude shine through
can be benefit you to be an effective teacher. “Teachers who had a plan, not just for
their classrooms but for their personal life and profession, often had greater success
with their students”, as suggested by Teach Hub. This is much true as having a plan
means you are having a direction and goals. That if you put your plan in action, it will
give you pleasure, because you connect with your students and you meet them on the
learning journey in which you are spreading positivity.
Music is not merely theoretical but practical. In this aspect, I have learned that
the best way for students to learn music is to be immersed in it as much as possible.
That music is the best learn through maximum immersion. That is why teaching
children to be creative gives them a skill that goes far beyond the music classroom.
And it is more fun if games are on it. Being able to compete in a healthy and cheerful
manner is a valuable skill for student to learn. It combines well with collaborative
activities.
Through this reading, my knowledge on what techniques and strategies in
teaching have improve significantly not only limited on teaching music but as a whole
or in general. I found that these techniques and strategies are necessary as I want to
bae an effective teacher and to have direction, and I want my students to also have
directions and goals in life.
