The Gardens started to be built in

1741 by Henry Middleton

Henrys son added to the Garden and

named it "the most important and

interesting gaden in America"

This house was built in 1755 and the

South Flanker was built as a place to

hold buiness meetings.

Two months after the civil war ended,

the US troops burned down the house

and was rebuilt years later.
