NOTE: This is for Windows 7/8.1/10 (x86/x64)! It has been successfully tested by myself in a VirtualBox
and on my own Computer(s).

The WinTango Patcher is a mostly self-explanatory graphical wizard designed to make simple the
process of modifying your system files with resources developed by the Gnome-Colors Project, which is
mostly inspired/based on Tango, GNOME, Elementary, Tango-Generator and many other open-source
projects. It currently includes implementations of the basic Gnome icon set and the Gnome-Colors icon
sets, rounded out with various pieces of artwork created by myself and others. Additionally, it includes a
Reloader module to re-modify your files if they are overwritten, allowing system updates to be
performed without breaking the theme.
Before applying the Patcher the first time, make sure your system is up to date. This reduces errors and
the need for the reloader to re-patch your files.

Anyone willing to pick up the project is welcome to head over to GitHub and modify/update the Patcher.
If you do so and release a new Patcher please give me a note. I might want to try it, too .
Thank you for all your interest in this project and I hope it still works in this version for a while! OSCustomize Light-X-

Cheers!

The latest version of WinTango-Patcher (16.12.24) doesn't patch system icons in Windows
10 1909 (64 bit), but patches icons of third-party applications.

I just wanted to thank you for the joy and breath of fresh air you provided when you worked
on this great project. Farewell to a great man...
Its sad to see the project go, but it was awesome while it lasted.
Thank you very much for the job you did with this patcher! It made my days using Windows
XP, 7 and 8 way nicer.

So, this doesn't patch Windows 8.1 tray icons?
mhoude
Well.. I guess this project is dead now
So sad.
Wish you luck mate.
Cheers.

Hey mate, still working on this great project ?
TheGamerZ
Yes, and it works on 1803 as well.
heebijeebi,
i'm on win 7 X64 and i face this error:
askfriends
its awesome but i would love to see more icon themes.

Hello again,
I have the reloader enabled on startup but when I install something after (ie: vlc), the
reloader doesn't patch the icon.
Thanks in advance
heebijeebi
Hi! Sorry for the delays the last weeks.
Yes it is expected behavior. The Reloader can only keep track of files that were
already present when the patcher was installed. To patch newly installed apps you
have to re-install the patcher.
Hi, is there a reason why the visual style option is greyed out on my computer?
heebijeebi
I guess you are using Win 8.1 / 10? It's because there is no Visual Style included for
these OS.
CHROMAX
Is there a way to disable pinned-icons at the quickstart-pins in explorer? They kill my theme-
style.
BlakByte
2'nd.. they're too obvious. Removing the icon all together would be nice
