REFLECTION PAPER

I realized a lot of things after viewing the video. The majority of us are reliant on these
devices. We’ve forgotten that true communication takes place face to face, rather than through a
technology. Face to face communication was favored above talking, emailing, and publishing.
The cause for this is due to technological advancements. We allowed technology to take root in
us. Our ability to communicate with people has been damaged by the misuse of technology. Visit
a milk tea establishment or a café. You’ll notice that everyone is glued/busy to their phones.
These people would rather be on their phones posting than with the people around them.
Technology is a powerful force for change that makes our lives much easier. Technology will
undoubtedly provide a huge spectrum of conveniences, honoring us as beings of relief and
easiness, it will gradually take over the role of those who originally provided us with factors that
new tech can cover up, particularly in the field of communication.

Our lives have been tremendously influenced by modern technologies. We are

technologically addicted. We use it to the tiniest degree possible. When the gadgets are charged,
even if they are not full we will pull them out immediately because we go insane when we don’t
have our cellphone with us. “Connected but Alone?” by Sherry Turkle discussed how technology
has altered our lives through communication. Since the advent of technology, our interactions
with others have changed. Instead of going out to find fresh air, others prefer to lock themselves
in a room and play online games. We appear to be unable to function without the aid of
technology. Even if current technology benefits us and is beneficial, it has the potential to harm
us, and we must remember that we are the ones in charge of technology. Allowing technology to
control humans is not a good idea.
