The Curious Incident of the dog in the

night-time

A boy finds a dead dog with a garden fork in him in the yard of Mrs Shears.
His name was Christopher John Francis Boon. he was very smart. he knew all
the prime numbers up to 7507 but somehow he has a lot of trouble being able
to read other people’s emotions. So his friend siobhan had drawn lots of types
of emotions on pieces of paper to help him. He kept them in his pocket and
picked them out at times when he didn't understand what someone was saying
after finding the dog in mrs Shears garden he gave it a hug. Mrs Shears saw
that and thought he had killed the dog and told him to go away. The next day
at school a police came to him for questioning but Christopher couldn't stand
the stress and hit the police man. He had to be taken to the police center.

On the way home Christopher told his dad that he wanted to find out who
killed the dog. But his dad got mad bc he had to stay out of trouble. His mother
died 2 years ago. One day he went home from school but no one answered
the door. When his father came home he did some calls and went away for 2
hours when he came back he told him that his mom had some heart problems
and that she’s in the hospital. christopher decides whether it’s a good day or a
bad day while looking at cars.that day he saw three cars so it was going to be
a good day. He wants to be an astronaut but if that doesn’t work out he is
gonna go to university and studie mathemathics. because it was a good day he
dicided to write a book about who killed Wellington. Siobhan helped him with it.
When Christophers mom was in the hospital he never went to visit her there
She died of a unexpected heart attack. He decided to find out who killed
Wellington even though his dad told him not to. He went to Mrs. Shiers house
to tell her that he didn’t kill Wellington and that he wanted to find out who killed
him. she just closed the door. after that he waited a while and snuck into the
garden. in the window he saw the garden fork. mrs. shears told him to go
home or she would call the police. The next day he had nothing to do so he
decided to go and talk to people in connection with the murder of the dog but
he does not like talking to strangers but for the dog he did it anyway. The first
house he went to was number 40, Mr. Thompsom’s house. He wasn't home
so his brother answered the door. Christopher asked if he had seen or heard
anything suspicious on Thursday night. he hadn't so he left. The next house
was number 42 but no one aswerd. On number 44 lived black people but he
didn’t know what there names were. They also didn’t hear or saw any
suspicious. In house number 43 lived Mr Wise and Mr Wise’s mom. When he
asked them they laughed at him so he left. He didn’t knock at the door of
number 38 because they do drugs and his dad ordered him never to talk to
them so he didn’t. The last house was number 39, Mrs Alexander’s house. He
asked her the same thing he asked at the other houses. She also didn’t hear
anything but she liked chatting with him so she invited him for a cup of tea.
Christopher felt uncomfortable so he went back home. Mr Shears was his
prime suspect because he used to be married to mrs Shears until he left. Mrs
Shears came over and did lots of cooking for them when his mother died.
Christopher doesn’t know why Mr Shears left that’s why he decided to find
more information about him. At school he and his dad had an argument with
Mrs Gascoyne the headmaster, about christopher doing his A level in maths
but they got out of the argument and christopher could do it. Before
Christopher’s mother died he thought his mom and dad were getting a divorce
because they argued a lot. when christopher returned home after interviewing
his neighbors his dad asked where he had been. He replied with a white lie but
his dad didn't believe this because Mrs. shears had called his dad and told him
that he had broken into her yard.
His dad got mad at this because he has to keep his nose out of other people's
business. Christopher told him that he thinks Mr. Shears killed the dog.
Christopher's dad ordered him to never utter his name in his house again
because he was evil, but he wouldn't explain why. he also told him to promise
to not help Mrs shears becouse they are not friends anymore. that meant he
couldn't continue writing the book so he told siobhan that the next day. And
she told him to be proud of being able to write a book. The next few days were
bad until one day he saw 5 red cars so it was going to be a super good day.
After school he went to the store at the end of the road and there he saw Mrs
Alexander and After chatting for a bit Christopher asked if she knew Mr.
Shears then Mrs Alexander asked him to come with her to the park because
she had to tell him something importent , Christopher had a strange feeling
about this but was so curious and went along. when they arrived Mrs.
Alexander told him that before his mother died she had an affair with Mrs.
Shears and that that is probably the reason why his dad finds him evil.

When he got home after his talk with Mrs Alexanders Rhodri was there he
works for his father and he often joins him for a drink while they watch TV. The
hound of the baskervilles is Chrisophers favourite book because it’s a detctive
story and also because he likes Sherlock Holmes. Christopher thinks that if he
was a proper detective he would be like Cherlock Holmes. He is very smart
and solves the mystery. That night he wrote some more in his book and the
next morning he took it into school so that Siobhan could read and tell him if
he had make any mistakes with spelling and grammer. He wrote about his
mother and Mrs Shears affair and Siobhan asked if he was sad about it but he
said no and she told him if i ever wanted to talk about it that he could go to her.
Christophers brain is like a film and that’s why he is so good at remebering
things, like conversations he has written down in this book, and what people
are wearing, and what they smelled like. When he got home from school his
father was still out at work so he went inside and and put all his stuff on the
kitchen table including THE book and went upstairs to watch blue planet
videos. A little later his father came home and went to the kitchen, but
Christopher had forgotten that THE book was still there. So after a few minutes
his father came to him with the book, which he had already read and asked if
he had spoken to Mrs. Alexander and Christopher replied with a yes. He got
very angry and started yelling. He grabbed Christopher by the arm, which he
had never done before. His mother used to hit him because she got angry
easily, but with his father it was the first time. Christopher doesn't like it when
people touch him, so then he hit him like he hit the police. he had no memory
for a short while it was like someone had switched him off and on and when
they switched him on again he was sitting on the carpet and his dad was
standing in front of him holding the book then he left the room went outside
and came back without the book.

The next day his father apologized for hitting him and told him that he didn’t
mean to hurt him and because it was Saturday he said that he was going to
take Christopher to the Twycross Zoo to show him that he was really sorry. He
had never been there so they bought a guidbook and walked round the whole
zoo. After that they went to the café. When he went to school on Monday
Siobhan asked him why he had a bruise on his face. He explained the
situation with his father and she asked him if he grabbed him hard and
Christopher answerd yes. Then she asked if he wanted to talk about it, but he
said no so they didn’t. When Christopher got home his dad was still at work so
he went looking for the book. He had looked everywhere but could not find the
book. The only place he hadn't been was in his dad's room. He's normally not
allowed in there, but he went looking for it anyway. He went in his closet and
saw an old box when he opened the box he saw his book. He heard that his
father came home so he just left the book there. He was about to leave when
he saw lots of evelopes addressed to him.
He recognized the handwriting they were his mother's. Then he heard his
father opening the front door so he took one envolope and hid it underneath
his mattress. Then he walked downstairs and said hello to his father they had
a little chat and Christopher went back to his room and opened the envolope it
was from his mother but is was very confusing because it was from 18 months
after she died. Now he didn’t have 1 but 2 mystery’s to solve. He decided to
give it a rest and went to sleep. It was 6 days until he could go back into his
father’s room but one day father had 2 emergencies at work so he was gonna
be home late. So he went to his room and took another letter. There are 43
letters addressed to him all in the same handwriting. He took one and opend it.

The letters came from his mother. He opened the first one but nothing
importend was in it. Then he opened the seconde one where she explained
everything in. She wrote that she is nothing like his father.That his father is a
much more patient person and when things upset him he doesn't let it show
and that's just not the way his mother is. And at times she could not control
Christopher. His father and mother always discusssed about it because she
often thought she could not handle it anymore. Then she wrote that Roger (Mr.
Shears) and Eileen (Mrs. Shears) were no longer in love and that Roger felt
alone. She also wrote that Roger and his mother discovered that they had a lot
in common and fell in love. Roger suggested that she should leave
Christopher's father and come and live with him, but she could not leave
Christopher. Until one night his mother cooked him something and he wouldn’t
eat it. And he hadn’t eaten for days and he was looking thin. And Christopher
started to shout and she got cross and trew the food across the room. So
Christopher grabbed the chopping board and threw it to her foot and broke her
toes. After that she and his dad had a huge argument and his mother couldn’t
walk properly for months. After some thinking she realised that Christopher
and his father were better off without her. Then roger asked her to go to
Londen with him and she said yes. After his father found out he was so angry
at her and she could never see Christopher again. Then he opened the third
and the fourth envelope but he stopped reading because he felt sick. He
realized his mother had not had a heart attack, that she had been alive all the
time. He rolled onto the bed and curled up in a ball. When he woke up his
father was already home and came to his room and saw the letters on his bed.
He put his hand on Christophers shoulder and started crying. Normally
Christopher would scream or get mad but he saw the hand on his shoulder but
didn’t do anything.
His father cleaning christopher after he puked himself he said had to tell him
something serious and he promised that from now on he will always be honest
with him. Thats when he told him that had killed Wellington. He explained that
dad he thought Mrs. Shears was in love with him because she came by often
but he found out she loved the dog more than him. One day they were having
an argument and Mrs Shears went back inside and that its when he killed
Wellington. Christopher was in chock and screamed while pushing his father of
the bed. His father went back downstairs and said that they were gonna talk
tomorrow. Christopher wanted to leave the house because he was scared that
he was also going to kill him. And thats what he did. When his father fell
asleep he took toby went outside, sat down in the garden between the shed
and the wall while looking at the stars, wondering what he would do next.

he fell asleep at 3:47 because it was so cold. When he woke up he heard his
father in the garden and leaving with the car. then he knew it was safe to
leave. his idea was to go to Mrs. Shears but no one answered the door then
he thought of going to Uncle Terry but he doesn't like him very much and he
lives all the way in Sunderland too. Or he could go to his mom's but she lives
in London and he's never been to London before. After some thinking, he
decided that the best option was to go to his mom. He decided to go by train.
But he had no money, food and someone had to take care of toby. So he
decided to go and ask Mrs. Alexanders if she might be willing to look after
Toby. When he arrived he told her everything and she said she was very sorry
but that he should talk to his dad. Then Christopher turned around and went
home and got some food for Toby, clean clothes, math books, orange juice,
milk, 2 clements, 2 tins of baked beans and his dad's cell phone and bank card
he puts it all in his school bag and went to school. When he got to school he
saw his dad’s van outside. So he decided to just immediately go to the train
station. But first he had to ask some lady because he didn’t now where it was
but eventually he found it.
He was sitting on a tray at the station when suddenly a police officer came up
to him and asked if he was okay because a lady in the café saw that he had
been sitting there for 2h30. He also asked him what his name was and where
he lived Christopher just answered the questions. Then he asked him what he
was doing here and Christopher told him that he was going to see his mother.
Then Christopher asked were he could buy a ticket. The policeman showed
him and left. Christopher bought the ticket and got on his train to Londen
There were lots of people on the train and he didn’t like that. Because a train
is like a moving room and you can’t get out of it. He was just looking out of the
window until he heard someone saying his name. It was the policeman. The
he told him that they had his father is at the police station and that he was
looking for him. So the policeman told him to get of the train and come with
him. Christopher didn’t want to and starts screaming but the police man got
him and he had to sit on his seat. Christopher fell asleep and when he woke
up he was still in the train with the policeman. Christopher really had to wee
but didn’t know there was a tiolet on the train that's why he leaked a little and
peed his pants. The policeman noticed and told him to go to the bathroom
immediately. When he got there, the train started to slow down. The policeman
called Christopher's name, but he didn't say anything because he didn't want
him to take him to his father and ran away. The train stopped and he was
wondering if he was in londen then a women came and told him that she
thinks someone on the platform is looking for him but he didn't answer and the
women walked away. christopher just stayed in the train.

Christopher wondered whether he should have got of the train because it just
stopped in Londen and now he is scared that he is gonna end up somewhere
he is not supposed to be. He just closed his eyes and did some math puzzles
so he didn’t think about where he was going. Then the train stopped again but
he just stayed on the shelf behind the big suitcase because he didn't want to
be found by the policeman. Then the train stopped again and he didn't hear
anyone. So he went off the shelf to get his bags and to see if the policeman
was still there. But when he went to look he was gone and so was his bag.
Then he looked behind him and saw another policeman, so he quickly walked
off the train. The gate man came up to him and told him that the police were
looking for him so he should wait here. Christopher did not listen and walked
away. He still did not feel well. There were sings but when he read them all the
words mixed up so he stopped. He looked around and saw a store that said
'information'. At the store he asked if he was in Londen and he was. To go to
his mother he had to take the tube to Willesden Junction or Willesden Green.
So he bought a ticket and went in. He felt really sick because there were a lot
of people so he just closed his eyes.
He kept his eyes closed and he didn’t look at his watch. When he opend his
eyes and looked at what time it was he realised that he had been there for 5
hours and that Toby jkwas gone. So he got out of the tube because he had to
take another one and went looking for him in the little sation and found him but
he was sitting in the lower-down bit were the rails were. Christopher went
down on the rails to get Toby but he was running away from him. When he got
him he heard a train comming but he could not come out because it was to
high. luckily a man grabbed his arm and pulled him out. The man asked him if
he was okey but Christopher told him to leave and so he did. Christopher
didn’t know were to go anymore so he went to a little shop and asked where
451c Chapter Road, London NW2 5NG (address of his mother) was. The man
at the shop showed him a little book but he first had to pay for It. He bought it,
went and sat on the floor against the wall, opened the little book and found his
destination. He went outside the station and took the bus. He arrived at his
mothers house and rang the bell but no one answered so he just waited. After
a while he heard a womens voice. He looked over and saw his mother, his
mother saw him to also saw him and ran directly towards Christopher. Then
she asked what he was doing where and Christoper told everyrhing. His
mother invited him inside. He took a bath and after he was all setteld he heard
that his father was in the house. His father and mother where arguing but Mr
Shears called the police and he had to leave.

the next morning, he heard Mr. Shears and his mother discusssing over how
long he could stay. His mother told him he could stay as long as he wanted.
After that his mother went to the store to buy clothes for him. Christopher told
her he had to go back to Swidon for his math A levels but his mother said he
couldn't because she can’t drive him. On a Monday Mr Shears came in
Christophers room smelling like beer and was saying really mean things to
him. His mother came in and apologized for his behavior. The next morning
when Mr Shears went to his work, his mother packed all their bags and told
Christopher to get toby and go to the car. They were going back to Swidon.
When they got there they went to their old house because she still had the
keys.
The next day was the day Christopher was suppost to do his maths A level but
his mom moved it to next year. The next morning his mom brought him to
school. there he told siobhan that he could no longer take his math A level
test. He was super sad but a little later siobhan came back with the great news
that he could still take it today. That night his dad came into his room to ask
how his test had gone and to say how proud he is of him. The next day his dad
told them they had to leave but they couldn't because his mom didn't have any
money or a job. Then Christopher asked if his dad had to go to jail if so then
they could take over the house. But his mother said he was not leaving
because Mrs. Shears had not filed a complaint against him. After a while
everything was okey because his mother got a job and moved out the house.
Christopher couldn’t wait for the results of his maths A level but siobhan told
him he shouldn’t think about the future but to think about today and about
things that have happend especially the good ones. Because his mother had
to work a lot Christopher had to go to his fathers house sometimes, but there
he didn’t talk and ignored him. Toby died because he was 2years and 7 moths
old. After school Christophers dad told him that he was really sorry and that he
hopes that eventually he will trust him again so to prove that he bought him a
dog. He could not take it to his mom’s house because it was to small there but
he could go to his dad’s and take it on walks whenever he wanted to. He
named the dog sandy. When his mother got better they went to a workshop
and bought a book called ‘futher maths for A level’ and his father told Mrs
Gaysone that he was going to take A level further next year and she said that
was oke. And when he has done all of that he is going to university in an other
town and become a scientist.
