Reality Series
A sari sari store sells p1,ooo worth of products during its first week. The owner has set a goal of
increasing the weekly sale by p500 each week for the next 10 weeks. Find the total sales during the
first 11 weeks this store is in operation.

Answer?
How do we find the answer ?
• Firstly, we analyze the subject and figure out how
we are going to do this.
• Secondly, we identify the given as it would determine
our answer
• Then, we should work on the solution we are going to
use.
• And finally, we work on the answer.
The solution and answer:
Find: 11th week : a11 = ?

Given:
First week:
A1 = 1,000
D = 500
n = 11
answer
Solution:
An = a1 + (n-1)(d)
n
2
Sn = (a1 + an)
Find: a11 Total sales: s11
An = a1 + (n-1)(d) Sn = (a1 + an)
N
= 1,000 + (11- 1)(500) = (1,000 +6,000)
2
11
= 1,000 + (10) (500)
= 2

= 1,000 + 5,000 = 5.5 (7,000)

= 6,000 = 38,500

The answer:

The total sale is p38,500

per 11 weeks

The chosen salary scheme
Monthly Scheme
Starting salary = 15,000 php
Salary range = 2 years = 24 months
Monthly increase = 2%

answer
Given:
15,000 php
24 months
2%
Mid salary max salary
a = 15,000 (1.02) 12 - 1 a24 = 15,000 (1.02) 24-1

= 15,000 (1.24) = 15,000 (1.02 23)

= 18,600 = 15,000 (1.58)
= 23,700
N
Sn = [2a1 + (n-1)d]
