Wind Direction Sensor

The wind direction sensor is a professional meteorological sensor used to measure horizon-
tal wind direction. It consists of two parts, the body, and the vane. There is an electronic card
that collects the data in the body section, and a potentiometer in the vane section. This
potentiometer detects changes in wind direction and converts them into a signal.

The wind direction sensor can be used for many reasons. One of them is the interpretation of
the values of panel temperature. For example, If the value of module temperature is dropped
for a time, instead of saying that the temperature sensor provides a false value, the reason
might be that there is a strong wind blowing from the north as per the wind direction sensor.
One of the other reasons is to see if the damage is caused by the wind. It is used to docu-
ment warranty claims related to the damage caused by the wind.

Wind direction sensors should not overshadow the PV system at any time of the day or year
and should be located far enough away.

TEST
All Sensors are tested before delivery. The factory Test certificate is provided to the customers
along with the products, on request.
The test of the wind direction sensor is carried out by comparing it with a reference wind direct-
ion sensor that has been calibrated. During this test, data is taken from both wind direction sen-
sors for certain predetermined values.

WARRANTY
SEVEN Sensor provides a 5-year warranty against manufacturer defects. The warranty certificate
is also delivered with the products.
