Relative Humidity Sensor

Humidity sensor are used to measure the actual humidity condition within the air at any given
point or in any given place.

The relative humidity sensor is a capacitor element. A dielectric polymer absorbs water molecules
from the air through a thin metal electrode and this causes a capacitance change proportional to
humidity. The response is essentially linear.

Relative humidity measurements may be used to estimate changes in incident spectrum which
may affect PV module power output as well as irradiance sensor readings. Humidity data with
temperature data can also be used to calculate the period of wetness due to condensation.

A sintered filter is provided to protect the SHT21 Sensor from dirt, atmospheric pollutant and
water condensation. Temperature sensor is protected by aplastic radiation shield with aspirated
plates, which protect the sensor from direct sunlight and allows air to pass freely.

SEVEN provides a UV- resistant solar radiation shield and stainless steel mounting bracket with
the sensor.

TEST
All sensors are tested before delivery. The factory test certificate can be provided to the costumers
along with the products, on request.
The test of the relative humidity sensor is carried out by comparing it with a reference relative humi-
dity. During this test, data is taken from both relative humidity sensor for certain predetermined
values.

WARRANTY
SEVEN Sensor provides a 5-year warranty against manufacturer defects. The warranty certificate is
also delivered with the products.
