This document outlines contingency plans for 5 potential risk events at a biogas plant:
1) Leakage from storage tanks and distribution networks can be reduced using corrosion resistant liners and proper pressure maintenance.
2) Digesters must have flare systems to burn off excess flammable mixtures during maintenance.
3) Workers must use respiratory protection and ventilation systems must reduce hydrogen sulfide levels to prevent accidental releases.
4) Effluent discharge systems must be checked for leaks and connected to drainage to prevent ground contamination.
5) Pressure levels must be carefully managed and digesters have two pressure valves to prevent explosion from overflow, dangerous materials, or freezing valves.

Proper pressure levels should be Leakage in storage tank and Biogas maintained and implementation of 1 distribution network corrosion resistant liners can reduce the chance of leakage.
Formation of flammable mixtures during Digester must have flare system to
2 the digester maintenance operations burn off excess flammable mixtures.
Using exhaust and ventilation system to
reduce hydrogen sulphide levels, using 3 Accidental release of Hydrogen sulphide respiratory and other PPEs for workers involved
Effluent discharge system should be
connected through foul drainage system and should be checked for any 4 Accidental discharge of effluent leak and proper condition should be applied to avoid ground contamination which can be harmful for nearby area.
Overflowing sewage systems due to Pressure level should be managed
exceptional downpour , presence of carefully and there must be minimum 5 dangerous raw material used to produce of two pressure release valves to Biogas , freezing of valves and high prevent explosion of anaerobic digester pressure inside the digester tank. Risk Response Control
1. For Biogas plant project, proper documentation for Project risk assessment and contingency plans should be maintained which can be required in future projects where conditions may not be same but basic risk assessment will be same anywhere in any project. 2. Every employees and worker should be equally responsible and accountable to identify the risks involved and report to higher management and safety team to mitigate the same.
