3 - HARDWARE DESCRIPTION

3.1 - General
The control system consists of at least a basic board and a
user interface with, depending on the application, one or
more slave boards such as compressor boards, 4xDO boards
or 4xAI-2xAO boards. If used, slave boards are connected
to the basic board via an internal communication bus (SIO).

Description of the modes

Mode # Mode name Description

1 Local Off The unit has stopped in local mode because the Local Off (LOFF) operating type has been selected through the
Operating Type select key.
2 CCN Off The unit has stopped in CCN mode because the CCN operating type (CCn) has been selected through the Operating
Type select key and the control has received a stop command from the CCN network.
3 Remote Off The unit has stopped in Remote mode because the Remote operating type (rEM) has been selected through the
Operating Type select key and the control has received a command to be off from the remote contacts. See section 3.4.2
for remote contact description.
4 Local On The unit is authorised to start in local mode because one of the Local On operating type (L-C1 or L-C2 or L-H1 or L-H2 -
or L-H3 ou L-At) has been selected through the Operating Type select key.
5 CCN On The unit is authorised to start in CCN mode because the CCN has been selected (CCn) through the Operating Type
select key and the control has received a start command from the CCN network.
6 Remote On The unit is authorised to start in Remote mode because the Remote Operating Type has been selected (rEM) through
the Operating Type select key and the control has received a command to be on from the remote contacts. See section
3.4.2 for remote contact description.
7 Delay at star-tup in effect Delayed startup operates after the control power supply is switched on or after the unit is turned in off state. If the delay
has not expired, the mode is active. The delay is configured in the configuration menu.
8 Auto mode selected Unit is in Auto control mode because either :
- The Local On Auto operating type (L-At) has been selected.
- The unit is in CCN operating type (CCn) and has received a command to be in Auto mode from the CCN network.
- The unit is in Remote operating type (rEM) and has received a command to be in Auto mode through remote contacts.
When unit is in Auto control mode, change-over between cooling and heating is automatic as a function of outdoor air
temperature.
9 Unit frost protection selected Unit is in frost protection control because either :
- The Local Off Frost Protection operating type (LFrP) has been selected.
- The unit is in CCN Operating type (CCn) and has received a command to be off and under frost protection control from
the CCN network.
- The unit is in Remote operating type (rEM) and has received a command to be off from the remote contacts with the
unit frost protection in remote control select activated (see configuration description in section 4.2.10).
- The unit is 100 % down due to an alarm with an unit frost protection select alarm condition validated (see configuration
description in section 4.2.10).
10 Unit frost protection active Unit frost protection is active because mode 9 is active and the water heat exchanger temperature has reached the frost
protection setpoint. See section 5.3 for information about unit frost protection.
11 Second setpoint in use The second setpoint (cooling or heating) is active because either :
- The Local On cooling setpoint 2 (L-C2) or the Local On heating setpoint 2 (L-H2) operating type has been selected.
- The unit is in CCN operating type (CCn) and has received a network command to use the second setpoint.
- The unit is in Remote operating type (rEM) with remote contacts selecting the second setpoint. See external contact
description in section 3.4.3.
12 Third setpoint in use The third setpoint (heating only) is active because either :
- The Local On heating setpoint 3 (L-H3) operating type has been selected.
- The unit is in CCN operating type (CCn) and has received a network command to use the third setpoint.
- The unit is in Remote operating type (rEM) with remote contacts selecting the third setpoint. See external contact
description in section 3.4.3.
13 Reset in effect Temperature reset is in effect. In this mode, the unit is using temperature reset to adjust leaving water setpoint. The
setpoint is modified based on the outside air temperature reset to adjust leaving water setpoint. The setpoint is modified
based on the outside air temperature. To be active, the reset function must be configured (see sections 4.2.10 and 5.6.2).
However, the reset function is always active when the unit is in auto mode. This mode is displayed only if the reset value is
different from 0.
14 Low water heat exchanger suction Protection for low heat exchanger suction temperature is active. In this mode, the circuit capacity is not authorised to rise
temperature if the unit is in cooling mode and the saturated suction temperature is 13°C or more below the leaving water heat
exchanger temperature and leaving water heat exchanger temperature is lower than frost protection threshold minus
1.1°C.
15 Ramp loading in effect Ramp load (pulldown) limiting is in effect. In this mode, the rate (in °C/min) at which water heat exchanger leaving
temperature is reduced (cooling mode) or increased (heating mode), is limited to a predetermined value to prevent
compressor overloading. Ramp function must be configured (see section 4.2.10). Ramp values can be modified (see
section 4.2.7).
16 Demand limit in effect Demand limit is in effect. In this mode, the number of stages the unit is allowed to run is reduced depending on the
0-10 V d.c. demand limit input if used or depending on the configured demand limit value when demand limit contact is
closed (see section 4.2.7).
17 Compressors not allowed to start Heating low entering water temperature override in effect. The unit is in heating control and is not allowed to start
because of low entering water because the water heat exchanger entering temperature is below 7.7°C or the outdoor air temperature is below -10°C. It
temperature stops the unit when its stage capacity is greater than 0%, and entering water temperature is below 6.6°C. This mode
does not apply if the unit is fitted with a three-way valve.
18 Electrical heater stages active Electrical heater stages are active (if used) because unit is in heating control and either :
- Unit operates at 100 % of its total available capacity, and unit has not received a command for demand limit and when
the error on the leaving water temperature is greater than the electrical heater stage setpoint (default value 5°C) and the
outdoor temperature is below the minimal outdoor temperature setpoint for electrical stage control (default value 5°C).
- Mode 17 is active.
19 Defrost active on circuit A Unit is in heating mode and the defrost sequence is active on circuit A.

20 Defrost active on circuit B Unit is in heating mode and the defrost sequence is active on circuit B.

21 Low outdoor temperature heating Unit is in heating mode and the heating setpoint is limited because the outdoor temperature is below 7°C.
