No Upshifts, Binds at Times, No Codes
After overhaul a symptom of no upshifts or binds at times with no codes may be caused by installing a new or
used solenoid block and not preforming the drive cycle strategy. May also be caused by sticking valves.
Whether it’s new, used or remanufactured you should make sure you perform the Solenoid Body Strategy drive
cycle.
NOTE: Always drive the vehicle in a safe manner according to driving conditions and obey all traffic laws. The
engine and transmission must be at normal operating temperature.

Instruction Sheet for 6F50 Transaxle Solenoid Body 7T4Z-7Z369-AA Kit Contents: Solenoid Body, Service Tag
and Instruction Sheet.
KIT – 7T4Z-7Z369-AA
Part Number: -7Z369 Description: Solenoid Body Quantity: 1
Part Number: 7T4P-7G342-BA Description: Service Tag Quantity: 1
Part Number: SK 7TP-7Z369-AB Description: Instruction Sheet Quantity: 1
Service Procedure:
This kit contains a service tag with solenoid body identification and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) strategy
information for this solenoid body.
• Compare the printed tag information to the solenoid body, the tag has a unique 13 digit “Solenoid Body
Strategy” and a unique 7 digit “Solenoid Body ID”. The tag and solenoid body must match or the Solenoid
Body is not usable.
• The tag must be placed over the solenoid body tag on the top of the transaxle case. Clean the area first,
to insure the tag will stick, peel the backing off the service tag, be sure it fully covers the original Solenoid
Body tag on the top of the transaxle.
• The PCM must be updated using the new Solenoid Body Strategy Data File and Solenoid Body ID. Failure
to update the PCM can cause erratic transaxle operation. Use the Diagnostic Tool (scan tool) to get the
Solenoid Body Strategy Data File (www.motorcraftservice.com) and download it to the PCM. Follow the
procedure in the Service Manual Section 307-01 – Diagnosis and Testing – Solenoid Body Strategy.
• Perform Drive cycle after downloading the Solenoid Body Strategy Data file to the PCM.
NOTE: Always drive the vehicle in a safe manner according to driving conditions and obey all traffic laws.
The following procedure will allow the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to learn adaptive transmission
pressure control for optimal shift quality.
2. Accelerate vehicle at moderate throttle so each shift occur around 2000 rpm on the tachometer up to 50
mph. Brake moderately to a stop. Repeat this pattern two (2) times.
3. Accelerate vehicle at moderate throttle so each shift occur around 3000 rpm on the tachometer up to 50
mph. Brake moderately to a stop. Repeat this pattern two (2) times.
4. With the engine running and brakes applied, move the shift lever in the following order pausing between
each position for four (4) seconds. Start in neutral, N-R-N-D-R-D-N. Repeat this pattern two (2) times.
