What are the qualities of Rizal (from birth to studies in Ateneo & UST) which are relevant to you
today. Explain

One of the qualities of Rizal that is relevant to me today is being family-oriented. Rizal grew up
to be a kind and intelligent person because of the influence he got from his family and relatives
when he was young. I believe that this is one of the most important qualities that a person
should have in today's generation. I'm also a family-oriented person and I'm glad that I have a
good family. It's good to think that I had good traits because of the good values I got from my
own family. If ever there were a lot of problems in my life today, I would hold on to the advice I
got from my parents because I believe in them as they are kind and have more experience in
life.

Secondly, the Rizal’s quality of being open-minded. Rizal has a broad knowledge of various
things because he is willing to acknowledge new perspectives, opinions, and suggestions.
Then, he applied these things to accomplish his goals in life. This kind of quality is very
important for me today. The things I learned in life can be used up for the betterment of myself
and for other people.

Thirdly, the Rizal’s quality of being passionate. It is very evident that Rizal is passionate based
on his determination in learning new things when he was young and how he was good at
studying when he was studying at Ateneo and UST. For me, being passionate is relevant today
during a crisis. No matter how difficult it is to live today, I will be able to achieve my certain goal
to get the fulfillment I want if I have passion that motivates me to pursue my dream goal in life.

Another quality of Rizal is being intelligent. He proved that he was smart because he excelled in
a lot of things from childhood until he grew up. He used the opportunities to help his family and
other people through his intelligence; he did not use it in a bad way. For me, being intelligent is
relevant today. In a world that is full of sadness, despair, and hardships due to the pandemic,
intelligence is a valuable tool that gives us the ability to combat every problem in life by
formulating plans and solutions to it. There is a saying: don’t work hard, work smart.

Lastly, Rizal's courage in working for the betterment of himself, his family, and other people,
despite all odds, is a quality that is relevant to me today. Even though I experienced many
problems that affected my life, I did not give up my hope in fulfilling my desire in life, so that I
could help myself, my family and other people, considering that problems always come as we all
live in this world.
