1. According to Teo Nenes, how is language a powerful tool?


Teo, quotes a sentence from Angela Carter that says: “Language is power life
and the instrument of domination and liberation”. He also says that language
bridge the gap between races, nations and cultures.

2. Why is it important to learn about other cultures to help you become a


better global citizen?
Learning a new language or about a new culture could show appreciation and
understanding into other societies. You gotten to be more mindful of culture
contrasts, why they exist and the significance of regarding them. According to
researchers, Hanh Thi Nguyen and Fellow Kellogg, when people learn another
language, they create better approaches of understanding culture and ways of
considering and behaving.

3. Describe the importance of social media in global citizenship.


Social media is a very powerful thing that if you do a correct use of it, it’s nice but
if you don’t it can also be a nightmare. News spread in matter of seconds, as do
the fake ones. As Teo said just following an influencer, an actor or a famous
person on social media indirectly you learn about another culture that is different
from your own.

4. Describe a culture, other than your own, you’ve learned about. How has it
impacted your view of global citizenship?
I travel a lot and I love learning about other cultures around the world. When I
went to United States for the first time, there were things that shocked me. It
helped me learn about how different people can be with just a matter of
kilometers and how important it is to know about this differences before going to
another place just to be respectful and understanding with people that maybe
don’t act the same way as you do.
5. According to Teo Nenes, how can “admitting” that you are a global citizen
affect the future of the world?
Teo says that global citizenship opens the world to many opportunities. Less war,
less hate, more empathy, more understanding between people. He thinks that
being a global citizen can make us all truly united, one civilization that will never
die.
