Information on how to register for working and drafting groups

1 As communicated in paragraph 5 of document PPR 9/1/1 (Chair), the following virtual

working and drafting groups are proposed to be established during PPR 9:

.1 Working Group on Marine Biosafety (agenda items 6, 7, 16 (documents

concerning the BWM Convention) and 19 (documents concerning ballast
water management)) – WG 1;

.2 Working Group on Prevention of Air Pollution from Ships (agenda items 8, 9

10, 11, 16 (proposals relating to MARPOL Annex VI and the NOx Technical
Code 2008) and 19 (documents concerning air pollution prevention)) – WG 2;

.3 Working Group on Sewage Treatment Plants and Marine Plastic Litter from
Ships (agenda items 14 and 15) – WG 3; and

.4 Drafting Group on Regional Arrangements for Port Reception Facilities in the

Arctic (agenda item 13) – DG 1.

2 The draft terms of reference for the above-mentioned working and drafting groups are
set out in annex 3 to document PPR 9/1/1.

3 Delegates who wish to participate in PPR 9 virtual working and drafting groups are
requested to register for the group(s) they wish to join by completing the form at the following
link: https://forms.office.com/r/1nzw0z0MqF. After submitting the form, delegates will receive
an automated confirmation e-mail for each group that they have registered. The link will be
open until 7 a.m. (UTC+1) on Monday, 4 April 2022, after which the registration for groups via
that form will be closed.

4 The video-conferencing platform to be used by the groups is Zoom. The Zoom joining
link(s) will be emailed separately by the Secretariat to the registrants in two batches, one on
Thursday, 31 March 2022 and another on Friday, 1 April 2022. Delegates who register for
PPR 9 working and drafting groups between 4 pm (UTC+1) on Friday, 1 April 2022, and 7 a.m.
(UTC+1) on Monday, 4 April 2022, will be emailed the Zoom joining link by 11 a.m. (UTC+1)
on Monday, 4 April 2022.

5 Please note that the Zoom joining links will only be sent to delegates who have
registered for the groups and have also successfully completed the registration process to
attend PPR 9 (active or passive) via IMO's Online Meeting Registration System (OMRS).
