Aim:-carry out removal and installation and function

testing of aircraft light


MATERIAL REQUIRED:-Multimeter,screw driver
Theory-The exiter and ground service lighting can be
divided into five groups:-
1. Navigation and anti-collision beacon lights
2. landing lights
3. Icing flood lights
4. Ground service light
5. Formation keeping lights

Removal of landing light


A.Render the aircraft electrically safe
B.Support landing lamp assembly and remove the
seventeen 10 U.N.F mushroom head bolts
securing access panel to wing structure
C. Remove microswitch cable clips

Installation of landing light


A.Clean off old sealant with stripalene or methyl
ethyl ketone
B.Apply barrier material PR.1005L or EC.776 to
mating surface of landing lamp flange and access
panel
C. Fit landing lamp to access panel and secure with
the fifteen 6 U.N.C . screw

Function testing-
Aircraft lighting systems provide illumination for both exterior and interior
use. Lights on the exterior provide illumination for such operations as
landing at night, inspection of icing conditions, and safety from midair
collision. Interior lighting provides illumination for instruments, cockpits,
cabins, and other sections occupied by crewmembers and passengers.
Certain special lights, such as indicator and warning lights, indicate the
operation status of equipment.
