In Regards to Sentencing for George Mojica II,

On August 15th 2022,

Your Honor,

My name is Louie Valentine. I am a former co-worker of Mr. Mojica. We worked at Cox Cable
together for more than 10 years. During our employment we both played for the company's
Championship winning softball team. Subsequent to leaving employment for Cox Cable, Mr. Mojica and
I remained friends for the 13 years that followed our mutual employment. I have known Mr. Mojica for
over 24 years. We played weekly rounds of golf at St. Marks Country Club, Where we both have held
memberships for over ten Years.
During the time Mr. Mojica and I worked together I found him to be positive co-worker. He accelled
at his position despite having no experience as a telecommunications technition. He always had a
positive attitude and was easy to work with. He often found him self in the role of training the new hires,
as he was the most successful and efficient teacher we had at the company. The main responsibility we
had for this employer involved trouble shooting in the field, to which he approached every task smile
and productive attitude. During the 10 years we worked together I never saw any kind of stress or
problems from home or his personal life, that affected his demeanor, or his performance. He was never
the type to play hooky or even genuinely call in sick. I can only recall him missing work when his little
brother suddenly passed away while studying abroad.
During that family tragedy Mr. Mojica remained remarkably together and was the back bone for his
whole family. As anyone would expect Mr. Mojica's parents took the loss of his younger brother and
only other sibling, badly. Mr. Mojica was in charge of all the responsibilities surrounding his brothers
passing and subsequent internment.
After working together for 10 years, Mr. Mojica gave his notice to quit when he discovered his father
had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Mr. Mojicas father, a Vietnam Veteren, was a Police
detective working in Oregon at the time of his diagnosis. His fathers prognosis was grave, and was
immediately advised to get his affairs together. Mr. Mojica was needed by his dad to help with full time
care for his dads drastic physical and mental deterioration. It took less than 90 days from the time of his
diagnosis till he passed. Mr. Mojica had to watch his father lose all of his mental capacity, including
overseeing him turning in his badge and gun cause he no longer could be trusted with them. As a life
long Lawman this was humiliating to his father, and traumatic to watch. In the last weeks of his life he
lost control of his physical and mental capacity, leaving Mr. Mojica as his 24 hour caregiver. His father
died In his early 60's, never getting to enjoy retirement after a life of civil service. It was at this
time of his life Mr. Mojica started struggling with Drug and Alcohol addiction problems. But even during
these years of personal hardship he remained an active member of his community. He has been a
weekly mass attendant at St. Marks Catholic Church since he moved to his current house in San
Marcos as a young boy. He volunteered his time for charities like the big brother big sister foundation.
As well as assisting the local widows of fallen military men with household chores, landscaping, and
other household maintenance projects. He helped remodel the neighborhood widows homes, as well as
build additions for them, all for just the cost of lumber and supplies.
Mr Mojica is father to 2 children. One from his failed marriage to Jen, and a late in life child with a
woman named Jeran. Jeran abandoned their son the day he was born leaving the Hospital AMA just
hours after having him testing positive for meth. Mr. Mojicas Mom Linda was given temporary
Guardianship of the drug addicted new born baby boy. That left Mr. Mojica to be the only parent who
would successfully complete all the classes including, anger management, parenting and in patient
drug rehabilitation, for two years. After which he was successfully given sole custody and guardianship
of his son Jesse.
Your Honor, I implore you that as shocking as Mr. Mojicas involvement with h is current case, he is
still a well loved and respected man in his home and community. Although his mistake will deserve
some time to serve as a consequence I beg you to have some Mercy for this man. Mr. Mojica has lived
his entire life being the rock on which his whole family relied upon. He has always put his family before
himself. He obviously has some substance abuse issues id hope to see him deal with while serving his
sentence. His little boy has no other parent to speak of. Mr. Mojicas girlfriend has been exiled from the
boys life ever since his arrest. With no regards for the best interest of the child or the fact that Candace
has helped raise him since the age of 1. This man is needed at home by his son, as well as his aging
mother of 74, who is now raising Jesse completely on her own.
Thank you for taking time. To read this. My prayers will be with all of you. Im hoping it will be gods will
to see Mr. Mojica returned to his family a better man sooner rather than later.
