INTRODUCTION OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES AT HOTEL


ENTERPRISES
Innovations in the hotel business, especially high-tech, are largely dictated by the
requirements of the modern hospitality industry. Today, innovative technologies in the
hotel industry are not just a trend, but a real necessity that determines the further
development of your business, and sometimes even the very survival and maintenance
of market share. The question of the introduction of innovative technologies in the hotel
industry is asked by many hoteliers who understand the real level of competition in the
market of these services. The materials for the study were scientific publications. The
study used structural analysis (to analyze changes in the innovative development of hotel
enterprises). Assessment of the development of the hotel industry involves determining
the socio-economic efficiency of the national and international market. The practice of
hotel business, competition in the industry, economic realities with their complex
internal economic conditions and relations have significantly complicated business
activities in the services market, led to new patterns of its development. This requires
constant improvement and deepening of existing practices, including revision of
approaches and principles of management and development of business in the hotel
business. Innovation begins with investment, so in terms of investment, the hotel market
is significantly different from other segments of commercial real estate. Revenue from
hotel operations is related to the owner's daily strategy to attract and retain hotel guests
and find a healthy balance between revenue from rooms, cafes and restaurants, as well
as other services offered by the hotel and their costs [2]. The modern development of the
hotel services market demonstrates active competition between hotel enterprises and,
including large hotels, competition is created by individuals - business entities, which
mainly maintain small hotels and own private houses and apartments, the number of
which in recent years is growing. They offer visitors a full range of basic and additional
hotel services at a much lower price. Given the global market in the hotel business, there
is a lot of competition, the market is very aggressive, supply is ahead of demand, so it is
difficult for hotels to defend their interests. In this case, the optimistic development
option is to improve the quality of service and the offer of special services can create a
competitive advantage, but small businesses are often in the survival stage and do not
provide profitability. The modern development of the hospitality industry is aimed at
creating innovative technologies that will help attract as many customers as possible, the
maximum number of sales, gaining the trust of the guest, the formation of a positive
image of the company [2]. Further development of the hotel industry is impossible
without modern equipment and the latest technologies. Modern innovations are not
cheap, but hotel owners still spend on them, because only then can ensure their own
survival in the market. Innovations in hotels, especially modern automation, remain the
clear answer to this question. The use of technological capabilities in the work of the
hotel, in improving the sales of its rooms and information promotion of the brand itself
on the Internet - is no longer an innovation, but a tool in the spirit of the times for the
survival and promotion of business. Therefore, when wondering how to improve the
hotel, you should definitely start with its automation. And one of the most popular
developments today is the electronic management of the hotel. A specialized system is
created for the hotel to order, to which all employees are connected. With the help of a
web resource, they can get all the necessary information about the hotel at any time; in
the online mode to see all the changes that occur in it; book guest rooms; get access to
the widest possible range of sales channels. Wanting to offer customers an exclusive
service, many hotels order the development of special work systems that significantly
expand the functions of the hotel. Among them, for example, we can highlight the
following [1]: the system of automation of sales staff; customer service system; loyalty
program management system for customers.
The study substantiates the feasibility of introducing innovations in the hotel business,
which are stimulated by competition and a number of other market requirements. The
importance of their use is also due to the changing demands of consumers. The need for
innovative development is dictated by the very essence of an efficient economy, where
only those enterprises that systematically implement innovations can be formed and
developed in a competitive environment.
