SUMMARY QUESTIONS:

1. Why is there a need for the government to regulate business activities? Explain your
answer.

First of all, the government controls public safety and health business practices. And also to track
the companies whether they obey the guidelines that the government has given them. The second
is to protect those who have established their company properly, such as licenses, licenses, and
inspections. Lastly, it is important to control the conduct of business activities such as the
payment of taxes, health, and safety practices applicable in the sector.

2. Why is infrastructure important to the economy of a nation?

It is critical because the economy needs a reliable infrastructure to connect supply chains and
effectively move goods and services across borders. Our economy is evolving as rapidly as our
population, so that it can impact demand and supply in our society, and it is one of the
infrastructure factors.

3. How responsible is the government in bringing about a robust economy?

They are responsible for bringing out the robust economy because government should help the
other businesses in the other country. The government should contribute to the economic
development of a country and provide its people with the best entrepreneurship opportunities.

4. How can the government stimulate an otherwise stagnating economy? Explain your
answer.

Government can stimulate a depressed economy by providing more job openings that
can enable people to find a job. And it's natural to have a sluggish economy right now because of
the pandemic. Government should also take steps if the economy does not move.
5. Can you say that the Filipino culture is uniquely Filipino? Why?

Yes, because only the Filipinos can do our own unique culture. Every nation has its own culture,
which makes it unique in its own way. It makes Filipino culture unique because we have our own
culture that no one can take as an example that their superstitious belief, like cutting nails at
night, is bad luck.

6. When is Bayanihan a good Filipino characteristics?

It's one of the positive features Filipino can be proud of. Imagine supporting others, even though
you need support. And that's one of the positive things of Filipino supporting each other in times
of calamity.

7. Why is the Mañana habit a bad Filipino practice?


It's a bad habit because it's a waste of time, or this habit shows the lack of significance of our
culture in time, particularly for some of the students. They used their laziness and wasted their
time doing nothing.

8. How does culture affect the conduct of business activities in the Philippines?

Culture influences how people think, communicate and behave. It also affect the company’s
analysis and decision making. It also affect the time and deadline that are needed.

9. When does kanya –kanya become detrimental to our growth as a nation?

Kanya kanya is different from Bayanihan. It detrimental because it is a selfish way of a Pilipino.
Instead of helping each other to grow they tend to become selfish and they are the only who want
to be successful.

10. Is being highly politicized a good or bad trait? Explain your answer.

It's a bad habit, because anything that's going to be bad in the country is going to be blamed by
the government. It's nice that you know it's politics, but don't take anything that's involved in
politics.

11. What kind of risks do stakeholders face when they venture in any busiess?
When you invest, you already take a gamble, because not all companies can promise that they
can make a big income and return your investment. And the market risk is one of the
stakeholders they face as they go for investment.

12. How important are stakeholders to the economy of the government?

They are important to the economy because they provide business with opportunities for jobs.
They also provide products or services and support the company. They are also a raw material
supplier to make a finished product.

13. Why is there need for a company to identify and know its competitor?

Business should know who its rival is, since they are also a threat to their company. They need to
define, and they need to know what action they need to take to fight their rivals.

14. In what ways are government and employees considered indirect stakeholders?

Indirect Stakeholders are the only ones that pay attention to the finished product rather than to its
operation. The government and workers found the costumer to be an indirect stakeholder since
they are involved in the finished product.

15. Can companies share business secret among themselves and still consider each other as
competitor?

In fact, if both companies share secrets, it means that they are already building friendship or
closeness. If both companies do that, they're not treating each other as a rival, but rather as a
sister business.

16. In what sense has customer satisfaction graduated to simply becoming a minimum
requirement in business?

If your customer is pleased with your service or product, it means that you have really done your
job. Customer satisfaction should be regarded as a vital component of the business. Knowing the
consumer viewpoint will improve the service of businesses.

17. How critical the role of supplier?


The position of the supplier is important because it is the one that provides the raw materials to
the industry. They have a significant role to play in the business field, sourcing raw materials to
help increase production and finding better alternatives to raw materials for products.

18. Is JIT applicable here in the Philippines? Why?

Yeah, they can apply in various countries as long as they have agreed to each other's regulations.
And as long as they treat the item with respect and produce it on schedule, they can be added
anywhere.

19. How can the variables in the local environment help improve the lives of poor?

They can help by giving what they need, particularly on a daily basis. Help them find a better
career to make a living, too. Also lend a loan to start a business in such a way that they can
change the lives of other people, particularly the ones they need.

20. Explain Michael Porter’s five model of Industry competition.

Porter’s five model of industry competition is about examine the competitive environment.

First is Threat of new entrants, new entrants bring new capacity to gain the market share.

Second is Bargaining power of supplier, this force analyzes how much power and leverage the
supplier of a business has over the potential to increase its prices or to decrease the quality of
products or services purchased, which in turn will reduce the profitability potential of the
industry.

Third is Bargaining power of buyers, The bargaining power of buyers is also defined as the
demand for outputs.

Fourth is Threat of substitute product, this is the presence of goods beyond the common product
boundaries raises the willingness of consumers to turn to alternatives.
Fifth is Rivalry among existing competitors, there are a lot of competitors that are roughly equal
in power. When the industry is growing the consumer can easily switch to competitors offering
for a little cost.
