PH and humidity Measırement

The acidity level of a solution is calculated from the hydrogen and hydroxyl ions of the solution. The
scale ranges 0-14 values. 0-7 intervals show the acidity of that medium. 7-14 values show the
alkalinity of that medium. pH is defined as the logaritmic value of hydrogen concentration.

The pH level of the solution can be measured via reference and measurement electrodes. Those
electrodes are similar each other. The electrodes are made of glass. There is an inner room in the
electrodes. The inner room consists of mercury or calomel (mercury chloride). The outer tube is filled
with KCl solution. There is a small diffusion hole under the reference tube. There is no hole under the
measurement electrode. The pH level of the solution is measured from the pH sensitive point of the
measurement electrode.

The humidity measurement

Air consists of various gaseous constituents. The water vapor in the air is termed as humidity. The
water amount is depended on the temperature. The relative humidity shows the humidity of that air
that is not saturated. The relative humidity is measured via psychometer. This device consists of two
thermometers. One of the one thermometer point is dry, other is wet that is wrapped with a wet
cotton. The dry one shows the medium temperature, other shows the lesser temperature. The
diffrence is related to the humidity amount of that medium.
The humidity amount is measured via hydroscopic characteristic of the material. That means the
humidity absorber materials. This device consists of hair. In the humic medium, that hair absorbs
humidity and get longer, The pointer of the device shows the humidity medium of that medium.
