ABSTRACT ELECTRICAL HAZARDS

Safety is a vital trait that must be ensued in all activities of human life. However,
life without electricity will be unimaginable, Similarly, electricity constitutes a
larger part of workplace hazard such as electrocution, electric shock, explosions
or fire causing burns. So, Electrical Safety requires adequate attention while
planning, designing, installing, operating and maintaining electrical equipment
and installations in any workplace. This paper examines various types of hazard
related to electrical services in any workplace and necessary safety measures
were suggested as stated in all the standard regulatory bodies to reduce future
occurrence and also to boost energy efficiency.

Electricity lights up our homes, cooks our food, powers our
equipment/appliances [1,2,3].
COMMON ELECTRICAL SAFETY ISSUES

Electricity is widely recognized as a serious workplace hazard, exposing
employees to electric shock, burns, fires, and explosions [5]. Electricity
constitutes a larger part of workplace hazard such as electrocution, electric
shock, explosions or fire causing burns. Electrical accidents result from one of the
following three factors: Unsafe equipment or installation, Unsafe environment, Fig. 5: Common Electrical Safety Issues [6]
Unsafe work practices [6].

ELECTRICAL UNSAFE CONDITIONS CONCLUSION
It is evident that electrical fires can lead to loss of business, assets, and production loss in the
workplace. These losses can be so significant that they can even destroy companies. Hence, it is
important to be very careful around electrically powered machinery, tools and appliances.
Ensuring a safe and sound electrical installation is therefore a vital part of maintaining fire safety
in the home, and awareness of electrical hazards is critical to avoiding and preventing accidents.
