Description As part of the 400 series quality improvement process the thread
in the central thermostat housing port has been changed from
imperial (3/8) to metric (M16).

From January 2009 the majority of the lists were updated to

change the standard thermostat housing 145046110 to the new
part U45046111 on the 403D-15, 404D-22, 404D-22T and 404D-
22TA engines.

The previous imperial 145046110 thermostat housing was

retained across a small number of 400 series lists, ie those
which -

1. Have no water temperature switch fitted, or

2. Have the water temperature switch fitted in the lower
port. (See figure 2)

U45046111 will now be implemented across these build lists

also. The change will result in the central port (B) changing to a
metric thread (M16), in line with the standard 400 series offering.
Port B will now be blanked with an M16 tapered plug.

Customers who fit the imperial (3/8) components into Port B

must either switch to metric components, or use Port A.

The original part 145046110 had 3 x imperial switch ports (A, B

& C), U45046111 has a metric Port B while retaining the imperial
Ports A & C see figure 1

Availability The planned date for introduction is the week commencing 12th
April 2010.

Pricing Information There will be no change to engine pricing.

General Comments Customers who currently take an affected list shown in figure 3
will receive engines week commencing 12th April with the part
number U45046111. Resulting in the central port (B) see figure
1 changing to a metric thread (M16). Port B will be blanked with
an M16 tapered plug.
