AUTOMATION IN CALCULATION OF EMPLOYEE REMUNERATION :

APPLICATION OF DATE AND TIME FUNCTION

INTRODUCTION:

The students learn how to take advantage of Excel's date and time functions
(and working with multiple sheets) to determine the employee remuneration based on
the work hours put in.

PROBLEM STATEMENTS:
 Create formulas using date and time functions, To Calculate the monthly
wages for three staff working either as nursing attenders or nurses. The
remuneration for nursing attender and nurse are Rs. 500 and Rs. 650 per hour
respectively.

Based on the sign-in and sign-out time do the necessary calculations,


also graphically represent the hours of duty put in by each staff. Preferably a
pie chart.

Note: refer monthly budget for template

OBJECTIVE:
To enable the student to,

 Know the main function to calculate dates in excel.


 Calculate date difference.
 Calculate workhours.

PROCEDURAL STEPS FOR APPLICATION DATE AND TIME FUNCTIONS AND


FORMULAS EXAMPLES (EXPERIMENT 3A):
1. Open a new excel workbook and name it as “Experiment 3A – EMPLOYEE
REMUNERATION CALCULATION - STUDENT NAME - RRN”, and save it in the folder
in your name.

of the dates.

previous sheet. But, kindly don’t forget to link the staff data and date & duty details.
Remember, this linking of cells, helps to keep track of editions and corrections, when we
are dealing with huge and repetitive data.)
