1. Cavity Mutiny
Due to the removal of privileges enjoyed by the workers of the Cavite arsenal, such
as immunity from tribute and forced labor, the Cavite Mutiny is an attempt by natives to
overthrow the Spanish government in the Philippines. The Cavite Mutiny sparks a
Philippine revolt as a result of forced labor, or THE POLO, which required Filipino males
aged 16 to 60 to work for 40 days. They are more violent because they have stripped
Filipinos of many rights. Although it is popular, it is doomed due to the betrayal of fellow
Filipinos who prefer Spain to their own nation. Many Filipinos were killed in that
situation, including three priests or the Gomburza at Bagumbayan.

2. Secularization Movement
This campaign demands that the parishes of ordinary clergy Dominicans,
Franciscans, recollects, and other Spanish friars be handled by secular priests, the
majority of whom were Filipino. Two styles of priests have served in the Catholic Church
in the Philippines. There were common people and laypeople. Regular priests were part
of religious orders. Their primary mission was to spread Christianity. Franciscans,
Dominicans, Augustinians, and other religious orders were examples. There were no
secular priests of any religious order. They were given special training and supervision
by the bishops in order to administer the parishes. The bishops insisted on frequent
priests visiting the parishes, which caused a conflict. They said it was their responsibility
to oversee the administration of those parishes. Regular priests, on the other hand,
denied these visits, claiming that they were outside the bishop's authority. The bishops
threatened to abandon their parishes if they continued.

3. Execution of Gomburza
The execution of the three martyr priests had a profound impact on Filipinos at the
time, especially Jose Rizal. That is why he dedicated his second book, El
Filibusterismo, to the three priests. The three secular priests were persecuted and
executed as a result of the Cavite Mutiny. They were charged with treason and sedition
because they were the masterminds of the mutiny. The ruling was thought to be part of
a plot to stop the rising number of Filipino secular priests who were posing a threat to
the Spanish priesthood. The three priests, along with Francisco Zaldua, a Filipino
soldier who testified against GOMBURZA, were publicly executed by garrote in
Bagumbayan.
