MY JOURNEY :

A SHORT STORY OF MY EXPERIENCE

After spending years at university, my study journey has finally come to an end. It
wasn’t easy for me during the schooling period as there are handful of tests and exams
I had to handle. The cost of living in the city as well as the different school fees and
other expenses are some of my challenges for a daily. Then again, I am just so thankful
that I survived all those years.

Back then, while waiting for the schedule of our graduation day, I already had my
first job. I applied in a business process outsourcing company in Cebu City and work for
months but unfortunately, I didn’t work for long due to some reasons. I realized that the
job is not in line with my preference. and so, I looked for another job.

The second job that I worked with is a travel and tour agency. I got the job from
online and it started pretty well and I can tell that it’s easy to handle and manage until
such time that COVID-19 pandemic reach its height that affects the agency and sooner
closes.

From then, I was jobless and decided to go back to our province. I couldn’t find
any new job since there are travel restrictions and lockdowns all over the nation yet I
never felt that I should stop looking for a job that may suits to my course or field of
expertise. So, I browsed the internet again and tried to find jobs that I am qualified to
apply and can relate to my bachelor’s degree. Online jobs and applications has lot to
offer but it requires high standards which are impossible to obtain. Thus, giving up has
no room in my mind.

I tried to apply in two different companies in the same time and waited for their
responses. These known companies are located and based in Cebu City and that is, an
ease for my access. Luckily, Days after my application, both companies called and
scheduled me for an interview and training. However, I should have one company to
choose. The other company is a little bit hassle and inconvenient so I chose to work
with the company that I’m working right now, the (COMPANY NAME).

At first, I was a bit confused to what to do but later then, I am used to it. I was
hired as Drive Test Engineer and was assigned in different places in Visayas. Now, I’m
on my 2nd year in service and currently destined in my own province, Bohol.

I can say that I am enjoying my job now as a DTE personnel in this company.
Aside from the different experiences that I encountered, I was able to socialized with
other people in my surrounding and also learnt to deal with them. Hence, there are also
situations which can give me headaches and stress but no matter how hard it is, as long
as you are willing to do the task with compassion and hard work, you can do it. And I
always taught myself to be positive at all times.
