Introduction

The gender equality is in danger because to the COVID-19 epidemic. It can

undermine the work previously done by organizations and programs dedicated to
development and impede further advancement. Globally, there has been a decline in
labor force participation, and distant work has become standard due to social
segregation and quarantine measures. As a result, more women are being forced to
stay at home, which raises the possibility of domestic abuse and highlights the
importance of paying attention to women's issues. The pandemic has unavoidably
revealed issues with political, economic, and social structures, aggravating COVID-
19's effects on women.
Summary
Gender-based violence is increasing exponentially. Many women are being forced to
‘lockdown’ at home with their abusers at the same time that services to support
survivors are being disrupted or made inaccessible. And many women where force
to stop working because of gender biased. Women are frequently underrepresented
in national and global decision-making on COVID-19 response. Furthermore, women
are still paid significantly less than men and hold fewer leadership positions in the
health sector. Women and girls who are generally earning less, saving less, and
holding precarious jobs or living close to poverty. We should stop the gender biased
because everyone can do a work without being judge by their gender.
Analysis
My analysis on this article is that how gender biased is so rampant during the
pandemic. Many women were forced to stop on working because of biases. And
also, many women and girls who lived in poverty don’t have the chance to seek help
in the government. We need to ensure continuity of care for older persons, persons
with disabilities and those young women. Everything we do during and after the
COVID-19 crisis must aim to build more equal, inclusive and sustainable economies
and societies. This includes gender-responsive economic and social policies and
placing women’s economic lives at the heart of the pandemic response. Because
every have the right to work what ever your gender is.
Conclusion
A pandemic amplifies and heightens all existing inequalities. These inequalities in
turn shape who is affected, the severity of that impact, and our efforts at recovery.
Putting women and girls in the spotlight economic growth will fundamentally improve.
And more sustainable development outcomes for all, allowing for a faster recovery
and putting us back on track to meet the Sustainable Development Goals. Stop
gender equality because “Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It is a
precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable
development and building good governance.” — Kofi Annan
