TOSCA ROUSSEAU

Soprano, 27 years old

French-Italian soprano Tosca Rousseau was born in


1995 in Paris. She made her debut on stage as Gilda
(Rigoletto, G. Verdi) on February 8th 2019 at Teatro
Lirico di Magenta (province of Milan, Italy).
On March 9th 2019, she won the 73rd edition of the
European opera contest “Concorso Lirico Speri-
mentale A. Belli di Spoleto” (Italy) and made there
her debut as Berta (Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G.
Rossini) between September 18th and 28th, directed by stage director and actor Paolo
Rossi. In the 74th edition, in September 2020, she was Serpina in La Serva padrona by G.-
B. Pergolesi, Corilla in La Prova di un’ Opera seria by F. Gnecco (1802), and was called
for a jump in as Gilda in Rigoletto by G. Verdi with the actress and stage director Maria
Rosario Omaggio.
In November 2021, she made her debut as Télaïre in the opera Castor et Pollux by J.-P.
Rameau (1732 version) with awarded stage director and choreographer Deda Cristina
Colonna and also awarded costume and set designer Francesco Vitali, and the musical di-
rection of Benjamin Bayl, at Warszawska Opera Kameralna (Warsaw Chamber Opera,
Poland) with a live caption of the show on November 27th by TVP KULTURA, Polish na-
tional TV.
In September 2022, she worked with Henning Brockhaus for her role debut as Donna
Elvira (Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart) in Spoleto.
She was also invited to perform several solo recitals with festivals such as Les Passions de
Montauban (2019 and 2020) and Fermo Vocal Fest (2022). Her next engagement to come
will be a revival of the Castor et Pollux production in November 2022 at Warszawska Opera
Kameralna.
She began to study vocal technique and Bel Canto repertoire in 2012 with Anna Catarci.
From 2017 she began the study of the Baroque repertoire with Guillemette Laurens and
made her debut as Poppea (“L’incoronazione di Poppea”, C. Monteverdi) in a recital ver-
sion in July 2017, and as Cephise and Roxane (“L’Europe Galante” by A. Campra) in July
2018, during the Festival Saint-Bertrand de Comminges (Occitanie, France). She also con-
tributed in bringing back to the audience unedited works such as “La Belle au bois dor-
mant” by Guy de Lioncourt (La Princesse Aurore) in December 2017 and “Paul et Virginie”
by Victor Massé (Virginie) in November 2018, in Paris (France).
She continues to improve her vocal technic and repertoire as an operatic lyric soprano with
the french bass-baritone and vocal coach Mathieu Abelli.
