1. As you learned in the previous module, communication is a necessary and inevitable part
of human life. We use it for a wide variety of reasons. For this activity, identify at least 6
reasons for why we communicate.

1. To entertain
2. To create relationship towards other people
3. To share ideas
4. To socialize
5. To give encouragement to other people
6. To express feelings

2. Categorize your answers in the previous activity according to the following major reason:
to inform, to persuade, to entertain.

To Inform:
 We communicate to share ideas and information needed
 We communicate to develop understanding to a certain situation.

To Persuade:

 We communicate to express our feeling towards that person/persons.


 Communication created too also motivated and influence others.

To Entertain:

 The communication are design to also amused the audience

III. Is it possible for a single speech to carry out two or more of the three major reasons for
communication? Explain and provide an example.

 Yes, it is possible to carry out two or more of the three major reasons for
communication, it is visible when you are giving some advices to your friends who
are facing difficulties. By giving informative information, by giving motivation and
make that person laugh to ease the burden is an example and it would be possible
to carry two or more major reasons of communication.
