Directions: Explain your understanding of

Inquiry and Research by answering the
following questions.

2. Which is easier to carry out: Inquiry or
Research? Give reasons for your answer.
Because you are only asking questions when you
enquire, it is simpler to conduct than research.
Simply put, you're looking for solutions to your
inquiries. Research, on the other hand, is
organized and official. Before you can draw any
conclusions from it, you must do a lot of
research.
3. How can a researcher be a scientist?
Simply because research projects are scientific
and experimental, a researcher can be a
scientist. For researchers to delve extensively
into their specialized sector, they need to think
clearly and methodically.
4. What if you do things randomly in research,
what will be the consequences?
It is necessary to do a well-organized and moral
research investigation. Therefore, if you perform
your research at random, your study's overall
usefulness as well as the quality and
dependability of its conclusions will suffer.
Replication is not easy with a random experiment.
If your research cannot be replicated, it will not
appear to be very helpful to others.
5. Should you immediately concern yourself with
data analysis prior to the research approach?
Why? Why not?
I think you should because the study strategy
depends on how you'll interpret your findings.
The way you plan your experiment, the questions
you pose, and the data you gather will constrain
the kinds of analyses you can perform.
6. Could inquiry and research go together?
Explain your point
The first step in any research project is an
enquiry. If you don't have a query in mind, you
can't conduct research. Take the case of wanting
to purchase a new phone. We'll start with a
question like "What features are good to have in
a phone these days?" Then comes the research,
which includes looking at prices, availability, and
other factors. Buying a phone requires some
research in order for you to know what's best to
have, so we'll start with a question like "What
features are good to have in a phone these
days?" Without an investigation, there is no
research. If a question is not addressed, a study
will be pointless.
7. What do you think of this line: Inquiry occurs
completely with excessive familiarity with the
physical looks of an object?
In my opinion, it means that because something
seems familiar in terms of its physical aspect or
physical qualities, you will be intrigued and want
to learn more about it when you encounter it,
like an electric fan. Simply gazing at the object
will make you feel as though you can see through
it, and this will pique your curiosity enough to
make you want to learn more.
8. Do these two words, inquiry and research,
somehow indicate the strength of character?
Yes, at least for me, it does. Not everyone has
the nerve to ask a question. Some individuals lack
the guts to face someone or something in their
lives. Both asking questions and doing research
are useful activities in our lives. Without these
two words, our lives would be dull. When

the guts to face someone or something in their

someone takes the time and makes the effort to
find facts that are supported by evidence, that
shows strength of character.
9. Have you had an application of inquiry and
research in your day-to-day life? Explain
Yes, I have always been the kind of person who
look into anything that grabs my attention. Once I
learned how to use the internet, I would always
look it up online and watch videos of them since
I was so captivated by mermaids. I even started
asking my father questions about them. However,
in the modern age, especially with the
opportunity to study online, asking questions and
doing research are highly helpful. When I'm
heading somewhere new, I always use it. I ask
where it is and then start looking for it.
10. Name some institutions or organizations that often
engage themselves in inquiry and research. Describe
their ways of doing it.
The Department of Education (DepEd), the Department of
Health (DOH), and the Department of Science and
Technology are a few entities that I am aware of that
routinely conduct inquiry and research (DOST). To
acquire data about a topic they need to research, they
conduct surveys. These groups aim to improve our nation,
and they constantly start by asking about Filipino
citizens.
