IB-Council Rulebook:

(Year 2021-2022)

(1) Strikes
1.
a. One (1) strike will result in a notice of misconduct.
b. Two (2) strikes will result in a warning of demotion.
c. Three (3) strikes will result in demotion.
● Your count of strikes will reset to zero (0) at the start of each semester.
○ Reset of strikes does not warrant a promotion back into the committee.
■ In order to get back into the committee after three (3) strikes you will
have to convince the other members that you are worthy.

2. Unattended meetings will warrant you a strike.


● If you know you won’t be able to attend a meeting, notify us at least 2 hours in
advance, if not, then inform us post the meeting.
● If it's an emergency, let us know.

3. Uncivilized arguments/fights with a fellow member will warrant a strike to those


involved.

4. Personal use of council funds warrants 2 strikes.

(2) Meetings
1. There will be one meeting a week for all committee (group 1) members.

2. If needed, there should be a second meeting a week for all who need to report on
their progress.
● All members are allowed, though not required to attend this meeting.

3. Do not interrupt anyone or chit-chat


● Same applies if you're late

4. Respect your fellow members even if they are wrong.

(3) Roles
Group 1
● President | representative, leader, spokesman, enforcing rules
● Secretary | reports, archives, booking, meetings,
● Cashier | spendings, profits, bank, merch, inventory tracker, receipts, accounting,
● Staff mngr. | recruitment, retention, instruction, enforcement, production, reports,
● PR organizer| social media, merch, graphics, reputation, pinboard,
photo/filmographer,
● Event org. | shopping list, manage helpers, organize events, acquisitions.
Group 2
● Class rep. | IB class representatives, (bring ideas and suggestions to the
committee.)
● Helper | event setup,
● Advisor | former member, other councils.

(4) Performance tracking


1. The role of the president includes tracking each member of the committee's
performance on a weekly basis and the information will be relayed to the staff
manager.

2. Should a member underperform on a regular basis, the issue will be brought up


during the weekly meeting and solutions will be discussed.

3. If a member is part of the committee for CAS, their logbooks will be fact-checked
before being turned in to their supervisor to ensure fairness.

4. Demotion from the committee to group 2 will be reported to the CAS supervisor so
that a solution to the final CAS report may be found.

(5) Council Groups


1.
a. Group 1 (Student Committee) [counts as CAS]
b. Group 2 (Active Members) [counts as CAS only if enough job is done]

2. If you neither do your tasks or come to meetings, you will be demoted to group 2
members.

3. If you’ve joined the council for your CAS, then your performance (or lack thereof) will
be noted and given to your supervisor.

NOTES:
● For a group 2 to become group 1, they’ll need to attend and participate in meetings
until given a role by staff manager or president.
● Rules are subject to be updated in the yearly meeting by majority vote by all IB
students who are in any of the 3 groups.
