I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
1. Read words initial and final consonant blends;
2. Give examples of words with initial and consonant blends; and
3. Identify words with initial and consonant blends;
4. Determine words and phrase in the sentence; and
5. Read familiar words and phrases in text.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of grammatical structures of English
to be able to communicate effectively oral and written forms.
B. Performance Standards The learner shows proficiency in constructing grammatically correct sentences
in varied theme-based oral and written activities.
C. Most Essential Learning Read words with initial and final consonant blends (MELC 15)
Competencies (MELC) Read familiar words and phrases in text (MELC 16)
D. Enabling Competencies Read words with final blends (-st, -lt, -nd, -nt, -ft…) preceded by short e, a, i, o
and u words (belt, sand, raft)
Read words with initial consonant blends (l, r and s blends) followed by short
vowel sounds (e.g. black, frog, step)
