Proposal

Does Waterside Gloria Resort have cost controls in practice? (Research Question in mind)
(Cost Control Measures= Eco-friendly and Sustainability)

Background

A hotel is an establishment that provides lodging paid on a short-term basis. Facilities

provided may range from a basic bed and storage for clothing. Hotels may provide
additional guest facilities such as a swimming pool, business center, childcare, conference
facilities and social function services. Facilities offering hospitality to travelers have been a
feature of the earliest civilizations. In Greco-Roman culture, hospitals for recuperation and
rest were built at thermal baths. During the Middle Ages various religious orders at
monasteries and abbeys would offer accommodation for travelers on the road.

Waterside Gloria resort is under the IHG group. IHG is a British multinational hotels
company. It has over 570,000 rooms and 3,600 hotels across over 70 countries. Its brands
include Candlewood Suites, Gloria Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Hualuxe, and Stay-bridge Suites.
The Waterside Gloria Resort was established on 2010AD in the Sanya bay as a part of the
IHG group.

Generally, Eco-friendly means earth — friendly or not harmful to environment. Eco-

friendly refers to that which contributes to green living or practices that help conserve
resources like water and energy. Eco-friendly also prevents contribution to air, water and
land pollution. Eco-friendly simply means being friendly to nature. Eco-friendly means
making choices that are better for the environment. Another term that we use to mean the
same thing is sustainability. Since we live in our environment, sustainability or being
environmentally friendly is about improving the quality of life for our families, our
communities and generations to come. Living sustainably is a journey where every choice,
little or big, makes a difference. Thus, it is going to be an interesting project to study cost
control measures through eco-friendly and sustainability as driving forces to conduct
the research work.

quality information and to recognize the solid, reliable, research on which high-risk
managerial decision can be based. Researcher needs to understand how to conduct
such research.

Developing the skills required for understanding the scientific method the research work
will be conducted. Other books on research topics as well as on related issues will be
explored and quoted while making the final report.
