A.

1. Plants can produce their own nourishment from organic substances because they are
autotrophs. Plants also only take inorganic and mineral substances from the soil.
2. Photosynthesis is a complex set of reactions that uses light energy to transform inorganic
compounds into carbohydrates.
3. Light-dependent and light-independent processes are both present in photosynthesis.
Together, these two sets of reactions are referred to as photosynthesis.

B.

1. Nowadays, pollution is one of the primary contributors to global warming, which begs
the question of why people would prefer to live in regions like rural areas or places with
abundant vegetation. Perhaps it's because of the fresh air; plants, after all, create oxygen,
which aids the environment in combating the greenhouse gas cycle. People like Jerry
moved to rural areas for these reasons.
2. If the sun doesn’t shine for 2 months, I think all plant life will wither and our planet could
go on another ice age. The sun not shining means the global temperature will drop
significantly, making the earth only habitable by plants, animals and humans who can
devise ways to overcome the harsh changes on the global temperature.
