Task 1

The line graph represents the percentage of people aged 65 and up in 3 separate countries between
1940 and 2040. The countries are USA, Japan and Sweden. It is clear that all of these three countries
experience an increase in the period. (1940-2040)

Overall, the proportion of population aged 65 and over in Sweden and USA has increased rapidly,
however Japan had a decrease in the first period indicated. It can be clearly seen that in 2040
percentage of 65-year-old and over people has a greater proportion in Japan.

Task 2

The bar chart below demonstrates expenditure shares for five important categories in the United States,
Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan in 2009. The expenses given are housing, food, transportation,
health care and clothing.

It is clearly seen that the biggest share was spent for housing in every country given except Japan. The
second biggest shares is for transportation and food in 2009.

Task 3

The line chart depicts the rate of people who are unemployed in the United States and Japan between
march 1993 and march 1999.

The y- axis indicates information about the percentage of work force and the x-axis shows the timeline.
It can be clearly seen that the unemployment rate in US has increased regularly, however the rate has
increased in Japan between 1993 and 1999.

Task 4

The pie charts illustrates the amount of money spent and received by a children's charity in the United
States in one year. There are 2 pie charts’ given above, which indicates information about the Revenue
sources and the Expenditures.

It is seen that the Revenue resources are split in six main categories and the Expenditures are given in
three sub-parts. The biggest rate in the revenue resources chart is the donated food and the biggest
share for the expenditures is program services.

Task 5

The pie charts below demonstrate the findings of a survey of children's activities. The first graph
represents the cultural and recreational activities in which boys participate, whereas the second graph
depicts the activities in which girls participate.

The charts give example for some cultural activities and the once are done in empty time. The activities
for the boys are Basketball, Soccer, Reading, Computer games, Skateboarding and Listening to music and
the difference for the girls chart the main difference is that the chart has dancing, netball and gymnastic.
