WRITE THE OVERVIEW AND INTRODUCTION

The graph shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three
different countries.

Introduction: The graph depicts the percentage of the people above the age of 65 between 1940 and 2040 in The
USA, Sweden, and Japan.

Overview: Based on the chart it can be seen that Japan had the lowest percentage of people who were aged 65 and
over in the year of 1940. It is surprising that Japan estimates that they will have the highest percentage of these (not
the same ones) elderly people in 2040.

The bar chart below shows shares of expenditures for five major categories in the United States, Canada, the
United Kingdom, and Japan in the year 2009.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.


Introduction: The bar chart illustrates the consumer spending on five main items in four different countries in 2009.

Overview: It is clear that the largest proportion of consumer spending in all countries, except for Japan, went on
housing. On the other hand, the health care and clothing categories provided the lowest figures in 2009.

Introduction: The given line graph compares the unemployment rate in two countries: US and Japan from 1993 to

Overview: Overall, the USA successfully decreased its unemployment rate over the given time period while the
situation got completely reversed in Japan even though its initial lower rate of unemployment.

The pie chart shows the amount of money that a children's charity located in the USA spent
and received in one year.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make
comparisons where relevant.

Introduction: The given pie charts illustrate the sources of annual revenue and expenses by a USA based children’s
charitable organization.

Overview: Overall, the major contribution in revenue was made by donated food, and most of the finances were
spent on program services.

The pie graphs below show the result of a survey of children's activities. The first graph shows
the cultural and leisure activities that boys participate in, whereas the second graph shows the
activities in which the girls participate.
Introduction: Information on the cultural and leisure activities both boys and girls participate in, which is obtained as
the part of a survey is depicted in the given pie charts.

Overview: Overall, it is clear that except in listening, the interests of both genders vary widely.
