I’m Tran Quang Hung from HRM analyst about the aviation function of Vietnam Airlines for 5 years. I am
now the HRM manager for VNA. Thus, I qualify such as recruitment and training for Human Resources
for Vietnam Airlines.

The aviation sector is growing VNA as a robust company with a flag carrier and a major participant in the
country's aviation market. requires specific training; serves as a conduit for international marketing of
Vietnam. Developing into a significant airline in Southeast Asia and a leader in the CLMV (Cambodia,
Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam) region enhances business performance based on harmony and moves the
industry toward the best aviation brand inland and acts as a dependable reserve force for the country's
security and defense.

Top 3 is an essential target that aviation came from Vietnam has to achieve and the enterprise is leading
airline groups in Southeast Asia in terms of revenue. Vietnam Airlines is one of the top 10 airlines in Asia
and is running among the top 3 airlines in Southeast Asia in terms of scale. Advance 4-star airline services
and progressively achieve 5-star airline standards for Vietnam Airlines. Implement resilient digital
transformation to become a comprehensive Digital Airline Group. In addition, Vietnam Airlines becomes
one of the most favorite workplaces in Vietnam.

To impulse and apply technology 4.0 for aviation in Vietnam, the business wants to toward achievement
becoming the modern as well as on top best choice aviation for consumers. In addition, the enterprise can
provide a more comfortable and better experience with lots of convenient equipment on each flight.

The accessible technology: With updates and improvements on an online website, mobile application, and
advanced Self-Registration Kiosk for checking in airports. The aviation brand released more modern
versions to help their consumers can quickly be approached by searching for a flight, buying an online
ticket, or pre-order requiring something through the plane take off. As a result, the selling function
department offers customers preferred programs, makes it simple to maintain and conduct transactions
through Lotus miles accounts, and searches 67 digital maps of 9 domestic airports and 58 overseas airports.

Raising more experienced in Customer Service: In addition to improving the in-flight program, VNA
has also introduced Microsite applications, which run concurrently and connect to the airline's website,
which is updated every two months. The Microsite program supports 8 display languages, including
Chinese, Vietnamese, English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, and Korean, and it helps users find
information services and choose apps on their own. most beloved on-board memories. As the first
Vietnamese airline to adopt the A321neo in-flight WiFi streaming technology, VNA has changed the
"concept" and provided customers with an entirely new in-flight entertainment experience. The consumer

3.1. Industrial Characteristics

resources, Vietnam Airlines is producing lots of important equipment for aviation including
everything related to plans, replacement parts, aircraft equipment, and another supply. VNA is not
only an aviation brand to transport customers or goods but also VNA such as a big supplier for more
aviation in the world

3.2. Business Objectives

Dang Ngoc Hoa, the chairman of Vietnam Airlines' board of directors, stated that the airline has created a
production and business strategy for 2022, with the primary goal of maintaining complete operational
safety, efficiency, and flexibility in response to market demands. changeable market, cost-cutting, and cash
flow balancing. Additionally, Vietnam Airlines concentrates on enhancing customer service, encouraging
digital transformation, and planning for a long-term strategy to assure competitiveness, promote

3.3. HRM strategy

Definition: Strategic human resource management is a proactive approach to managing personnel in an


organization. It combines traditional human resource components like recruiting, developing, rewarding
and keeping employees and takes them a step further by taking into account the objectives and
requirements of other organizational units as well as the business as a whole.

A plan for managing personnel that is in line with the overarching vision, purpose, and values of the
specific business should be developed after carefully examining the objectives and requirements of the
whole organization, including all departments. Making sure that there is a greater probability of
organizational success is the ultimate objective of strategic human resource management.

A/ Recruitment & Selection: Recruitment and selection is the process of determining the need for a
position, outlining the qualifications of the post and the job holder, advertising the vacancy, and selecting
the best candidate. One of the primary managerial goals is to carry out this procedure.

Vietnam Airlines has an unchanged position in Vietnamese Aviation so their recruitment and selection
have different and required more quality human resource management. Recruitment criteria: The
compulsory element is being a Vietnamese citizen with Vietnamese nationality. Graduated from high
school or higher, Graduation from Intermediate, College, or University is preferred, and Health: Meet the
health requirements of flight attendants. Priority application members have 2 foreign languages ​ ​
(Chinese, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, etc.). Because Vietnam Airlines is more developing,
their employees need to learn many languages to work and communicate with customers.
B/ Learning & Developing: The practice of equipping employees with certain abilities to improve
corporate performance is characterized as learning and development (L&D), a specialist HR function.

They could get upskilling to perform better in their current tasks or reskill to take on new responsibilities
within the company and close the skills gap that is now a typical occurrence in the workplace.

Vietnam Airlines will increase training and development efforts to support the system's capacity
improvement. Vietnam Airlines views human resources as the foundation of competitive advantage.
Through its long- and medium-term plans, Vietnam Airlines continues to make use of its resources and
hire particular personnel, such as pilots, flight attendants, engineers, and technicians. As required by the
IOSA standard and current aviation regulations, Vietnam Airlines also offers safety-security training
courses for more than 11,000 pilots, flight attendants, flight operators, and ground service personnel.
Additionally, five English language courses for 91 outstanding officers and specialists were held in New
Zealand.

Since VNA wants to become an airline by 2025 and is making every effort to do so, digital conversion is a

amount of time in 2021 to investigate other airlines and determine what steps VNA airlines must take to

5.1 Employer branding

Definition: A company's brand is an image that current workers and the rest of the workforce may see
differently, and employer branding strives to alter that perception. Branding in concept may aim to target
customers, while employer branding focuses primarily on the workers and potential employees of a
company. As an outcome, it is a communication strategy designed to retain top-performing workers and
appeal to talented people.

5.2 Recruitment

Definition: The process of recruiting involves finding, vetting, shortlisting, and employing potential
resources to fill open jobs in a business. It is a fundamental part of human resource management. Finding

process of recruiting, choosing, and appointing suitable individuals to fill open positions in a company is
referred to as recruitment.

essential to Vietnam Airlines' ability to expand its company. To be able to find talent and manage the
workforce in the best way possible so that exceptional employees may work for the firm, the leadership of
the HR department has employed the digital human resource transformation technique and the proper
recruiting strategy to develop about HR strategy to recruit and select those talented people to train them.
