CASE 1

Maria has extra money, and she is planning to buy certain income-earning assets to help her earn
more. However, she wants to make sure that when she needs the money she temporarily
invested, she will be able to get a part or whole of it immediately.
What would you advise Maria to invest in?

Objectives
Buying income-earning assets to gain more money is the best investment that Maria
could do. It is a smart move to invest in assets that could give more income in the future. And
using the extra money she has is a safe move because it will allow the money to grow
furthermore without drawing out much money to start.
But when investing, the immediate need for getting a part of a whole from the investment
must be assured to happen if ever such time for a need has come. The important goal is to make
the investment rest assured that what you invested in would be reliable for future purposes.
Relating to that, a good alternative must be prepared in able for Maria to meet the
purpose of the investment.

CASE 4

Miko has been involved in buying and selling stocks for the past three years. However, he is
already starting to think of other investment opportunities from which he could earn apart from
the one that he is currently involved in.

Which type of investment would you advise Miko to buy?

Objectives
Investing is better but sticking only to one investment is not a great plan. Remember that
an investment is an asset or item acquired with the goal of generating income or appreciation.
Appreciation refers to an increase in the value of an asset over time. When an individual
purchases a good as an investment, the intent is not to consume the good but rather to use it in
the future to create wealth (Hayes, 2021).
When investing, the primary purpose is to make the growth of investment to invest in
another investment that would continuously generate income. Because if Miko sticks only to his
stocks, future complications may occur especially for this type of investment that is too risky and
unpredictable than any other investments.
That is why a better alternative for this case must be reliable if ever risks in stocks occur
unexpectedly.
