PRACTICE 3: WORD FORMS

Job Satisfaction

What is job satisfaction? It has been defined as how content one is in his or her job. In other words,
it is whether or not they like their job.

We must remember that money is the main factor that people get from their (1) (occupy). Most
people work because of the pay check they receive at the end of the day, week or month. However, that is
now changing as the (2) (major) of people are looking at other aspects or facets of job satisfaction apart
from earning a good salary.

One thing that many young (3) (employ) look for in a job is the feeling of (4) (enjoy) they
get when doing a job that makes them happy. What each individual wants from a job varies
(5) (great) from one person to another.

For some, it may be the chance of (6) (promote) which makes the difference. While for others,
it may be the chance of working in a (7) (create) setting with like-minded people which makes them
happy.

When planning your career, you should consider all the aspects involved in a job and decide how
each one suits your (8) (person). For example, if you are considering becoming an (9) (engine) for
example, can you think logically and solve challenging problems? If you are thinking of becoming a (10)
(psychology), do you have the ability to relate to people? Do you have excellent listening and observational
skills?

Do not choose a job just because it is better paid than another, it doesn’t mean it’s the job for you.
Choose a job that brings you contentment.

“Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation, while bad luck is when lack of preparation
meets reality.” - Eliyahu Goldratt
