Report on young adults' shopping habits in Romania


Shopping Report
The aim of this report is to outline young adults' mode of shopping, say whether it has changed over years and
what may influence the kind of items they will purchase in the future.
In this report, I will cover a relevant subject for young people in Romania related to their shopping practices
and comment on whether or not the mode of young people's shopping habits is changing dramatically during
recent years. Moreover, I will also note/express my opinion on what might affect the kind of things young
people buy in the future.

Shopping patterns
The shopping habits of young people have certainly changed when compared with other generations. The way
they see goods is based on brand and not quality, they buy for price and not worth because of their view on
the importance of name (popular & expensive) brand products when considering one’s social status. Some
studies have also shown that now teens spend on food as much money as they spend on clothing with teens
from 2003( 10-20 years ago) spending only half as much on food. – online shopping

Change in how young people shop


The Internet has enabled young people to be informed about prices and sales more than ever and they can use
these data to shop more wisely
The way teens spend money has now shifted towards restaurants with a certain coffee shop franchise staying
on top as favorite, but this has only affected their clothing budget. Another change was the importance of
online stores for shopping because young people now use mainly only the internet to buy things rapidly and
without wasting their time searching for items going into shops.

Possible future trends


Even though ... Our country's economy is very unpredictable and it is very hard to state the future shopping
trends because they are influenced a lot by the level of individuals' wages and welfare...
The younger people have shown what the integration of technology in shopping activities can do with the
appearance of budget managing apps or apps that take the place of your bankcards and I believe that this was
just the beginning. I say that in the near future there will be websites that will do the shopping for us using
already present elements such as suggesting what you might be interested in buying after analyzing your
search history.
Trends and what celebrities/influencers wear and promote will definitely have an impact on people, as they
want to have all the must-haves in their wardrobes.
Today, the all world markets change to global market, it has brought many opportunities and challenges, and the markets are facing more challenges
even than before, especially the rapid technological advancements like shopping online and this fast developing economy has completely changed
people’s lifestyle.

Culture is an important factor in consumer buying behavior. Culture distinguishes one human group from others. A people’s culture
includes their beliefs, rules of behavior, language, rituals, art, technology, styles of dress, ways of producing and cooking food, religion,
and political and economic systems. (Kim and Ahn, 2006)
