PART A: Find the mean, the median, and the mode of the data. Which measure of central
tendency best describes a typical entry of this data set? Are there any outliers?

1. The 2012–2013 tuition and fees (in thousands of dollars) for the top 14 universities.

Answer-1) let us set the given information in ascending to descending order:

PART B: The letters A, B, and C are marked on the horizontal axis. Describe the shape of
the data. Then determine which is the mean, which is the median, and which is the mode.

a) Here A hits the most frequency than any other number of days, so the Mode is A. And since it is right-
skewed shape then the median is greater than mode. So, B is Median and C is Mean.

b) According to figure C hits the most frequency so, C will be Mode and since it is left-skewed shape then
B will be Mean, and A will be Median therefore mean is greater than median in left-skewed shape.
