DATA QUALITY

Data quality - overall utility of a datasets as a function of it's ability to be processed easily and analyzed
for a database, data warehouse, or data analytics system

Regardless of how the data is used, the better the data, the more valuable it is. Good-quality data not
only helps patients receive better care, it makes for better research and analysis too.

• so when we are getting data we should always look for it's quality. We should be aware of the qualities
of the data that we are gathering in order to make good reports.

Two techniques to check HMIS data accuracy:

1.) Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS)

2.) Routine Data Quality Assessment (RDQA)

Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS)

- tool that allows the use of small random samples to distinguish between different groups of data
elements (or Lots)with high and low data quality

• it assesses the quality of a product and can be used to see how health indicators are performing. Ang
technique na to ay nakakatulong para ma-assess natin kung yung gusto nating level ng data accuracy ay
na achieve sa pamamagitan ng paghahambing natin sa mga previous relevant records.
Routine Data Quality Assessment (RDQA)

- simplified version of the Data Quality Audit which allows programs and projects to verify and assess
the quality of their reported data

•aims to strengthen their data management and reporting systems, ito yung nagbibigay-daan sa mga
programa at proyekto na i-check or i-verify at tasahin ang kalidad ng kanilang nagawa na data.

Elements of Data Quality

Relevance- the quality or state of being closely connected or appropriate

Timeliness- the fact or quality of being done or occurring at a favorable or useful time

Accuracy- the quality or state of being correct or precise

Completeness- the state or condition of having all the necessary or appropriate parts
