MIDTERM APPLICATION 2

1. The significance of Miss Abdellah’ Theory is that it provided a foundational knowledge of nursing
care concepts that enable nursing profession to explain what they do for specific patients and
the reasons for their ability in actions. Her theory is mostly important because it helps nurses
articulate evidence that justifies the methodologies behind their practice. Her theory also
provided a basis foundation for identifying and to wholly organize nursing care for the patient.
Her theory also determines possible method and set of operations to organize appropriate
nursing strategies to meet certain needs of patient. And that her theory would be applicable to
all nursing agent and also to a wide variety of patients.

2. Interaction with the nurse and patient is like having a connection with each other. Being genuine
is somewhat related to being oneself, as long as you are not an overly sarcastic person, which
might hinder an effective nurse-patient relationship. To be genuine is to be actual, real or true;
sincere and honest. To be authentic is to be real, to show devotion is to show that you honestly
care about the patient, and to be sincere is to be free from dishonesty. The nurse should possess
all these qualities in their interaction with patients, because if the patient believes the nurse is
authentic, devoted, and sincere, they will be more apt to engage with the nurse.

3. Watson’s hierarchy of needs simply explains the needs of an individual in order to survive and
achieve and so on to perform the common daily activities. For example, the biophysical needs. It
very essential to a person to have these resources to maintain a good and healthy functional
body. Next is the psychophysical needs which in lined with proper balancing of daily activity and
rest and sexuality. A health provider can implement an activity that gives a remark to his or her
parent in order to help his or herself balance the said needs.
