𝙎𝙐𝙈𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙔 𝙊𝙁 𝙎𝙃𝘼𝘿𝙊𝙒 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙎𝙊𝙇𝙄𝙏𝙐𝘿𝙀

Five o'clock on an April afternoon in 1917. Don Narciso arrived at Andres and Gabriela’s home.
Don narisico was their uncle and asked why did Andres had a scratch on his face, at first, Andres
doesn’t want to talk about but Gabriela convinced him. Andres had a fight at the club where
Flores started to spread the news that he and his wife’s sister marina had a relationship. Don
Narciso said that when a rumor like that wont come true if he hadn’t start defying it. Andres
denied all the rumor. Gabriela asked Don Narsiso if he could accompany her to the hospital to
visit her friend Charito who had a heart attack. she was so pleased to see her because she had the
same illness and he agreed. when Gabriela went to the garden to pick flowers for chariot. Don
Narciso took an advantage with Gabriela business and straightly talked to Andres that he should
not deny all the rumors. Andres, of course denies it all he also challenge Don Narciso to look for
evidence. Don Narciso said that the evidence are within themselves but he will still try to prove
it.
When Don Narsico was leaving, Marina abruptly arrived. She was confused with the sudden left
of Don Narsico. Marina and Gabriela talked about the new society and how modern ladies differ
from the ladies of their time. Luisa who’s a family friend entered the house. Everybody seems to
be surprised with her visit. It was revealed that she rarely visits anymore. Gabriela said that it
was a miracle. Luisa also heard the news about Andres but didn’t talk about it. Luisa asked about
how Marina’s vacation in zamboangga, how was everything about her and how was her love life.
Gabriela answered that Marina wasn’t interested with neither love nor relationships. So, Andres
and Luisa talked about the difference between happiness to be given or to be taken. Gabriela has
to left and goes to the hospital to visit Charito. Andres and Luisa had to talk about their reasons
why they all did not see each other for the past few times, why Luisa don’t visit them and why
did Andres and Gabriela didn’t attended at one of her brother’s wedding. Luisa told Marina a
secret that she is in love with a poet. She asked her again about her life and Marina told her that
her life was dull and boring. Luisa had to go.
Andres asked if Marina was alone. Marina was frightened what was going on around them and
asked Andres if Gabriela know. Andres declined but said that Don Narciso is being suspicious.
Marina can’t take these things that they were doing. Andres said they should run away and raise
their son. Marina was pregnant. Marina said that they should stop and separate now to serve as a
sacrifice for their son not to suffer for what they have done. Andres even said that they could
sacrifice other. Marina said he was selfish. Andres hugged him and said that they could not be
separated because they have the true love and if evil should destroy the soul of their son, they
must destroy him first. At the window, Gabriela saw the two in each other’s arms. Gabriella
withdraws, unnoticed by the lovers. Marina pulled out and walks out of separate ways and saw
Gabriela entered the house looking so exhausted. She said she was shocked because Charito has
died. She asked for a glass of water because she can’t breathe. 

Marina and Gabriela were on the couch and talked about their mother who passed away four
years ago. Marina tried to stop Gabriela from recalling but she still talked about their childhood
as well. Gabriela said Marina always take away her toys and how their mother scold her to be
generous because Marina was younger, and when she return the toys to her they are broken. 
Marina denies it.  Don Narciso suddenly came and Marina hides. Don Narciso asked Gabriela
what happened. At first, Gabriela won’t say it but Don Narciso warns her that her tio will get
mad at her. So she whispered him; why didn’t he told her about the two of them, she told him
what she saw and what she heard about them having a son. But her Tio Narciso said that it might
just her suspicion and nobody has any proofs. But she does. Gabriela started to cry out that she
cannot breathe. Gabriela Died.

Don Narciso started screaming. Andres and Marina came. They were shocked. Don Narciso
showed the both of them what they have done. Don Narciso started to drag Marina away from
Andres and told him to stay with his dead wife and repent to all of his sins. As Don Narciso and
Marina was getting far, Andres, alone there sitting on the floor with the corpse of his wife. He
asked for apology and cried.
