Briefing speech

 Hello everyone, I’m Prerna

 I am going to take a minute now to talk a little bit about reaching your audience, through
structuring your speech and linking your ideas, so that they come across clearly
 linking ideas is actually pretty important because it ensures the cohesiveness of your speech,
essential in maintaining the focus of your audience
 you can connect your thoughts using phrases like “following on from”, “in light of the fact
that”, “in my view” if you want to add a personal opinion – it is also possible to produce an
equally effective speech using simpler terms like “first”, “next”, “thirdly” and “finally”
 within your speeches, it might be useful to include anecdotes and personal stories that further
your case – for example if your topic is “should we always forgive and forget”, you might
like to talk a little bit about having to forgive someone in your own life – through this, you
can elaborate upon the difficulties in doing this and how you overcame them
 this idea of being personal, is more unique to public speaking – statistics are certainly
important, but you will connect to an audience with much more ease, if you are able to find
commonalities between you
 this is certainly something you should consider when compiling your points and ultimately
composing your speeches today.
